The second tiny stocking finished - only 22 left

Perhaps I should scan the pictures, there is so little light and looks like it makes pictures blurry. Anyway the second stocking is done. Looks much better in real life.

Ehkä pitäisi skannailla kuvat, valoa on niin vähän ja se näyttää tekevän kuvista epäselviä. Joka tapauksessa toinen sukka on valmis. Näyttää oikeasti livenä paljon paremmalta.

The first tiny stocking finished - only 23 left

Here it is. The first one finished. I used my own bigger stocking pattern to cut the fabric. There are 30 tiny stockings designs in the kit, but I'll make only 24, because I'll add them to my advent calendar (it has been missing stocking for 20 years, so it's about a time to do something) I don't have the ribbon material yet, I hope I'll receive it before I have finished all 24. I need ribbon to tie the tiny stocking to the calendar.

Tässä se on. Ensimmäinen valmis. Käytin  omaa suurempaa sukankaavaa kankaan leikkaukseen. Pakkauksessa on 30 pientä sukkamallia, mutta teen vain 24, koska lisään ne joulukalenteriini (siitä on puuttunut sukat 20 vuotta, joten on aikakin tehdä asialle jotain). Vielä minulla ei ole nauhaa, toivottavasti saan se ennen kuin kaikki 24 ovat valmiita. Tarvitsen nauhaa sitoakseni pikku sukat kalenteriin.

Last but not least - The Sistine Chapel ceiling this far. Part Deluge. Of couse I need to show my progress because I have a sponsor. Otherwise he may think, I'm just palying with computer and not stitching. I really like the computer, it makes very easy to see those 1/4 stitches, I wouldn't see otherwise at all.

 

Viimeisenä vaan ei vähäisimpänä - Siksuksen kappelin katto tähän asti. Osa Vedenpaisumus. Toki minun on hyvä näyttää edistymistä, koska minulla on sponsori. Muuten hän voisi luulla että vain leikin tietokoneellani enkä pistele. Pidän tosi paljon tietokoneesta, sen avulla on todella helppo nähdä nuo 1/4 pistot, joita en muuten näkisi ollenkaan.

 



Tiny Stocking's Ornaments by Bucilla

Yes, I know I have a lot to stitch...
This is an used kit I bought...Well, there is not enought anything, but it doesn't matter. I need only patterns, so I can use my own materials.
There was one half finished item in the bag and I realised that the fabric 14 count make the designs too big for the stocking pattern (perhaps the previous owner had realised the same thing...and stopped and decided to sell the item), so I changed the fabric to 16 count and realised after stitching this birdhouse - it's still too big for stocking pattern... so I don't used the ready made pattern I make my own bigger stocking pattern.

What about Sistine Chapel ceiling chart? I'm still stitching the Deluge part - and I hope some day - I don't mention the year I have finished it and I can move on the next part. I love to stitch it, because it's almost impossible.

My own design is resting, too.

There is so many beautiful patterns in the world and I have so little time and money.


Tiedän paljon on pisteltävää...
Ostin tämän pakkauksen käytettynä...no, mitäänhän ei ole tarpeeksi, mutta ei se haittaa. Tarvitsen vain mallit, joten voin käyttää omia materiaaleja.
Pakkauksessa oli yksi puolivalmis työ ja huomasin että kangas 5,5 ruutua/cm tekee mallista liian ison sukkakaavaan nähden (luultavasti edellinen omistaja havaitsi saman seikan ... ja lopetti ja päätti myydä mallit), niinpä vaihdoin kankaan 6,4 ruutuun/cm vain huomatakseni tämän linnunpönttöpistelyn jälkeen että malli on edelleenkin liian iso sopiakseen sukan kaavaa...niinpä en sitten käytä valmista kaavaa, vaan teen oma isomman sukkakaavan.

Entäpä Sikstuksen kappelin malli? Pistelen edelleen Vedenpaisumus -osaa - ja toivon että eräänä päivänä - en mainitse vuotta, olen saanut sen valmiiksi ja voin siirtyä seuraavaan osaan. Rakastan pistellä sitä, koska se on miltei mahdoton.

Oma mallinikin on lepotauolla.

Maailmassa on niin paljon kauniita malleja ja minulla tuntuu olevan aina liian vähän aikaa ja rahaa.

A pocket of an apron finished - essuntasku valmis

When I started to stitch this one - monochrome - I thought it is a piece of cake. It really wasn't. Now it's done and I'm reliefed. I learnt during this journey that I'm not a monochrome person. I love colours and stitching with one colour only is very boring.

Kun aloitin tämän pistelyn - yksivärinen - ajattelin että helppo nakki. Eipäs ollutkaan. Nyt se on kuitenkin tehty ja olen helpottunut. Opin matkan varrella että en ole yksivärinen ihminen. Rakastan värejä ja vain ja ainoastaan yhdellä värillä pistely on todella tylsää.

The pattern is from Marjorie Massey's French book Petits points & Toile de lin and it's called Coeur Rouge. I used DMC 3345 so it's more like coeur vert.

Malli on Marjorie Masseyn ranskankielisestä kirjasta Petits points & Toile de lin ja nimeltään Coeur Rouge eli punainen sydän. Käytin DMC 3345:tä, joten se on ennemminkin coeur vert eli vihreä sydän.

What next? Time will tell.

A pocket of an apron - essuntasku

Well... last time I promised to stitch something else. As always things really don't go as planned. I took a vacation of 2 weeks. My first vacation in three years and I travelled in Finland - here and there and there and here again. Because I try to travel ligh (only a needle, fabric, scissors and floss), my huge stiching frames are out of question.
Years and years ago I bought this apron of linen and now I decided to stitch something on the front pocket of it. That something is from a French book Petit points & Toile de lin by Marjorie Massey. It's called coeur rouge (red heart), but I used DMC 3345 for it. So it's more like green heart than red one.
I stitch over two and I don't know the density of the linen, but it feels like stitching on Hardanger fabric. I hope I'll finish this some day.
Usually I stitch only one piece at time, now I have three different project going on (or resting) and I don't like it at all. The rotation of stitching is not my piece of cake.
So I really don't know what's here next time...perhaps a finish of this one (I doubt that), Sistine Chapel, or Radical Balance???
Now all my projects are resting, because I'm busy with berries and mushrooms.
Summer is the busiest time of the year.

Noo...viimekerralla lupasin pistellä jotain muuta. Kuten yleensä aina, asiat eivät mene suunnitelmien mukaan. Otin parin viikon loman. Ensimmäinen lomani kolmeen vuoteen ja matkustelin Suomessa - täällä ja siellä ja siellä ja täällä uudelleen. Koska yritän matkustaa kevyesti (vain neula, kangas, sakset ja lankaa), hurjan isot kirjontakehykseni eivät tule kysymykseenkään.
Vuosia, vuosia sitten ostin tämän pellavaesiliinan ja nyt päätin pistellä jotain sen etutaskuun. Tämä jotain on ranskalaisesta  Marjorie Masseyn kirjasta Petit points & Toile de lin. Sen nimi on coeur rouge (punainen sydän), mutta käytin DMC 3345 siihen. Joten se on enemmänkin vihreä sydän kuin punainen.
Pistelin yli kahden langan ja ei ole hajuakaan tämän pellavan tiheydestä, mutta tuntuu siltä että pistelisin Hardanger-kangasta. Toivon että valmista tulee joku päivä.
Yleensä pistelen vain yhtä työtä kerrallaan, nyt minulla on kolme eri projektia menossa (tai lepäämässä) ja en pidä siitä lainkaan. Kirjomusten kierrätys ei ole minun juttuni.
Niinpä en todellakaan tiedä mitä täällä on seuraavalla kerralla... ehkäpä tämä valmiina (mitä epäilen), Sikstuksen kappeli vai Radical Balance???
Nyt kaikki projektini ovat lepäämässä, koska olen kiireinen marjojen ja sienien kanssa.
Kesä on vuoden kiireisintä aikaa.

Radical Balance 3 of 30

This is the third page of Radical Balance. And just when things start to getting more interesting...I'm going to do something else.

About a year ago I left Sistine Chapel Ceiling, because I couldn't see the tiny symbols any more. Well, I'm now having a device to see the symbols (No, I didn't take the eyes of 20 year-old). I have a tablet with a very high resolution. It was expensive, but I have a sponsor now, who likes me to finish the Sistine Chapel Ceiling. Those who know me, know already how clumsy I'm with computers. So I'm a bit afraid to start using it. Let's see... next time it's perhaps Sistine Chapel Ceiling again.


And some other things...
There are some new language choices at www.stitchia.com now. Yes, my own language Finnish, too. Item descriptions are still written in English, because it's main language (default) of the store.
During the summer there will be more pre-printed fabrics for those who don't like counting or those who prefer needlepoint.

Tässä on kolmas sivu Radical Balance'sta. Ja juuri kun asiat alkoivat mennä mielenkiintoisempaan suuntaan... aion tehdä jotain muuta.

Noin vuosi sitten jätin Sikstuksen kappelin katon, koska en enää nähnyt pienenpieniä merkkejä. No, nyt minulla on laite, jolla näen merkit (Ei, en ottanut 20-vuotiaan silmiä). Minulla on tabletti, jossa on todella huikea resoluutio. Se oli kallis, mutta minulla on nyt sponsori, joka haluaa että saan Sikstuksen kappelin katon valmiiksi. Ne, jotka tuntevat minut, tietävät miten kömpelö olen tietokoneiden kanssa. Joten olen hieman arka aloittamaan sen käyttöä. Katsotaan...seuraavalla kerralla ehkä taas Sikstuksen kappelin kattoa.

Radical Balance 2 of 30

It has been a long time. Now the second page is done. I haven't had very much time to stitch this one. I started a large project for a client of Ristipistopalvelut Stitchia and stitched it many months. It's finished now. So I have mostly been stitching for others. I have also added more items to my webshop Stitchia. If you haven't visit there for a while - a lot has changed. New items coming in every week.
I have also been stitching a gift project to my new relative and it's still in progress. It's a hush-hush. so you don't see it here. I'll finish it before I continue with this one. It'll take another long time before you seen the 3 of 30.

Taas on aikaa vierähtänyt. Toinen sivu on nyt tehty. Eipä ole ollut juurikaan aikaa pistellä tätä. Aloitin ison projektin Ristipistopalvelut Stitchian asiakkaalle ja pistelin sitä monta kuukautta. Se on valmis nyt. Niinpä olen enimmäkseen pistellyt muille. Olen myös lisäillyt uusia tavaroita verkkokauppaani Stitchiaan. Joa et ole vieraillut siellä aikoihin - paljon on muuttunut. Radical Balance - the first page

After a long and premeditated thinking process I finally decided ... well, not really. My embroidery scissors made the choice. They landed next to Radical Balance, so it is the one I stitch next.
Actually I don't know who is the artist behind this artwork. I saw about a year ago a calendar and this picture was the front page. I made the adaptation by myself. At first my choice of colour was Anchor flosses - then I made a bad choice and changed them to DMC. It made the colours more psychedelic and out of everything. I don't know yet is it good or bad. Let's see.
Ok. I have to live on that.  Fabric is 16 ct aida. Pattern size in stitches 355 x 417  or 148,035 stitches altogether. It's 30 pages and this is mostly the first page in picture. There are 75 colours and I use 2 plies. It took about a month to finish one page, so it'll take 2 and half year to finish whole picture. If I keep the same stitching speed. I doubt that, because I'll soon start a large project made an order.

Pitkän ja harkitun ajatustyön tuloksena vihdoin päätin... no, en oikeastaan. Kirjontasakseni tekivät valinnan. Ne laskeutuivat Radical Balancen viereen, joten se on sitten seuraava pisteltävä.
Oikeastaan en tiedä kuka taiteilija on tämän taideteoksen takana. Näin noin vuosi sitten kalenterin ja tämä kuva oli etusivulla. Tein muutoksen ristipistoiksi itse. Aluksi värivalintani oli Anchor - sitten menin tekemään huonon valinnan ja muutin sen DMC:ksi. Se sai värit näyttämään enemmän psykedeelisiltä ja irti kaikesta. Enpä tiedä vielä onko se hyvä vai paha. Katsotaan.
Ok. Sen kanssa on vain elettävä. Kangas on 6,4 ruutua/cm. Mallin koko pistoissa on 355 x 417 tai 148 035 pistoa yhteensä. Se on 30 sivua ja kuvassa on lähinnä ensimmäinen sivu. Värejä on 75 ja käytän 2 säiettä. Vein noin kuukauden saada tämä ensimmäinen sivu valmiiksi, joten tulee viemään 2 ½ vuotta saada koko kuva valmiiksi. Jos pistelyvauhti on sama. Epäilen hieman tätä, sillä pian aloitan suuren tilaustyöprojektin.

Egyptian Extravagance - It's a FINISH!

I have had issues. They haven't been cross stitch related. Cross stitching has been a pure pleasure. My computer resigned itself for good. Hard disc said ka-boom. And everything else there said goodbye. I'm still having computer issues - I have solved this far just few of them. Usually I'm busy stitching, but now my spare time has a whole lot of other meanings. Now I'm busy fixing my computer.
So I don't start a new stitching project immediately.
And yes, it really took a whole skein to finished all back stitching. I used one ply of skein.

Minulla on ollut vaikeuksia. Ne eivät liity ristipistelyyn. Ristipistely on ollut ihan puhdasta mielihyvää. Tietokoneeni irtisanoutui lopullisesti. Kovalevy sanoi ka-boom. Ja kaikki muu siellä sanoi hyvästit. Minulla on edelleen tietokoneongelmia - olen ratkaissut niistä vain murto-osan. Yleensä pistelen innokkaasti, mutta nyt vapaa-ajalleni on tullut ihan muita tarkoituksia. Nykyisin korjaan kiireen vilkkaa tietokonettani. Siispä en aloita uutta pistelyprojektia ihan heti.
Ja kyllä, tikkipistojen tekoon kului ihan koko kaartonen. Käytin yhtä osaa langasta.

This picture describes how the year 2014 has been in my life. Tämä kuva kuvastaa sitä millainen vuosi 2014 on ollut elämässäni.

2) The Leopard Hunts Alone By Dimensions - Leopardi metsästää yksin

I have always like wild animals, especially cats - Olen aina pitänyt villieläimistä, erityisesti kissoista.

 

3) Soft As Steel By HAED - Pehmeä kuin teräs.
Actually this last one is Julie Bell's artwork and called Hard as Steel. It was made 1994 by Julie Bell. So it's 20 years old and granny's crafts. I wonder why Heaven and Earth Designs advertises selling not granny's crafts.  Julie Bell has made fantasy art books, one of them is called Soft as Steel, but you can't find this picture there. This picture is on another book called Hard Curves.

Oikeastaan tämä viimeinen on Julie Bellin taideteos ja nimeltään Kova kuin teräs. Julie Bell teki sen vuonna 1994. Joten se on 20 vuotta vanha ja isoäidin kirjomuksia. Ihmettelen miksi Heaven and Earth Designs mainostaa ettei se myy isoäidin kamaa. Julie Bell on tehnyt fantasiataidekirjallisuutta, yksi näistä kirjoista on nimeltään Soft as Steel, mutta tätä kuvaa ei sieltä löydy. Tämä kuva on toisessa kirjassa, jonka nimi on Hard Curves.

When fixing my computer I have time to think which one of these three is my next project.

Egyptian Extravagance - cross stitches done, time to back stitch

All cross stitches are done. Massive amount of back stitches are waiting to be done.

This is a close-up of left corner. Started back stitching and I estimate it'll take a whole skein or even more to finish them all.

It's very quiet at work, so I have a lot of extra time to waste - for stitching. It calms my nerves.

Egyptian Extravagance - the middle panel

King Tut's mask is stitched. Next I'm stitching the third and the last panel of Egyptian Extravagance. I might take a picture before I move to back stiching or not. It depends on my computer. My computer  hasn't been co-operative lately. Too much updates or just old age, don't know what's the problem with it.

Tutankhamonin naamio on pistelty. Seuraavaksi pistelen kolmannen ja viimeisen paneelin Egyptian Extravagancesta. Saatan ottaa kuvan ennen kuin siirryn tikkipistoihin tai sitten en. Se riippuu tietokoneestani. Tietokoneeni ei ole viimeaikoina ollut yhteistyöhaluinen. Liikaa päivityksiä tai sitten vain vanhuutta, tiedä häntä mikä on ongelmana.

Egyptian Extravagance - more than halfway

Should have add this picture earlier, but my computer was a bit moody after updating, so here it is where I'm now with King Tut.
I have some confessions to make. At first with the first panel I used only one ply (It's suggested to use two), but I liked to make the mask look more prominent. The mask is stitched with 2 plies. I was a bit afraid how Marlitt's slippery threads would take their places. Everything went fine. The face is there and Marlitt's too.
There is more colour changes than I thought when I started this one, so it'll take a longer time to finish. I like the picture already and even better when the massive amount of back stitching is done. Now there is only cross stitches.

This week is also a sad week. I read on papers Helmi Vuorelma Oy had made a bankruptcy. This company was very old, over 100 years. I worked there in my youth. It was a legend then and I was very happy to be a little part of the history of Finnish needlecraft.

Now I have my own company (www.stitchia.com) and if something doesn't change all needlecraft business is going same way. Times are hard - so ladies and gentlemen let's stitch. It's keep us sane and give us something to do while waiting better days.

Olisi pitänyt lisätä tämä kuva jo aikaisemmin, mutta tietokoneeni oli vähän äkeä päivityksen jälkeen, niinpä tässä ollaan nyt Tutankhamonin kanssa.
On muutama tunnustuskin tehtävänä. Ensinnäkin ensimmäiseen paneliin käytin vain yhtä säiettä (suositus on käyttää kahta), halusin tehdä naamiosta näkyvämmän ja enemmän esillä olevan. Naamio on pistelty kahdella säikeellä. Pelkäsin hieman miten Marlittin liukkaat langat asettuisivat. Kaikki meni kuitenkin hyvin. Naama on siellä ja Marlitin langan myös.
Värivaihtoja on hieman enemmän mitä aavistin kun aloitin tämän työn, niinpä valmistuminen tulee kestämään hieman kauemmin. Pidän kuvasta jo nyt ja vielä enemmän kun valtava määrä tikkipistoja on tehty. Nyt kuvassa on vain ristipistoja.

Tämä viikko oli myös surullinen viikko. Luin lehdistä että Helmi Vuorelma Oy teki konkurssin. Tämä yritys oli hyvin vanha, yli 100 vuotta. Työskentelin siellä nuorena. Se oli jo silloin legenda ja olen iloinen että voin olla pieni osa suomalaisen käsityön historiaa.

Nykyisin minulla on oma yritys (www.stitchia.com) ja jos joku ei muutu kaikki käsityö-yrittäminen menee samaa tietä. Ajat ovat kovat - niinpä leidit ja herrasmiehet - pistelkäämme. Se pitää mielenterveytemme kasassa ja antaa meille jotain tekemistä parempia aikoja odotellessa.

Egyptian Extravagance - almost half of the middle panel

This is the middle section this far. I'm going to stitch the headdress first and then King Tut's face.

Because the mushroom season is here and now and there is plenty of mushrooms, I have mostly been picking mushrooms. Tomorrow it's boletus soup.

Egyptian Extravagance - the first panel

The first panel of Egyptian Extravagance is finished - almost. No backstitching yet. Next the middle panel. I'll do all backstitching at the end - and there is going to be plenty of it.

Ensimmäinen paneeli Egyptian Extravagancea tehty - melkein. Tikkipistot vielä puuttuvat. Seuraavaksi keskipaneeli. Teen tikkipistot ihan lopussa - ja niitä tulee olemaan runsaasti.

Thank God for dirty dishes finished! Egyptian extravagance started

This is not as the designer designed it. I made changes. I didn't like the teddy, so I removed it, and stitched a carpet and drawers instead. The message is as long as you have dirty dishes, you have food to eat. Be thankful of that.

Tämä ei ole ihan sillälailla mitä suunnittelija sen tarkoitti. Tein muutoksia. Nalle ei ollut makuuni, niinpä poistin sen ja pistelin tilalle maton ja laatikoston. Sanoma kuuluu niin kauan kuin on likaisia astioita, on ruokaa mitä syödä. Ole kiitollinen siitä.

This is start of Egyptian Extravagance. It's 18 count aida and Anchor & Marlitt flosses. Yes, I know start in the middle. If you see the size of the chart and fabric - start in the middle is not very good idea, so I started from a corner - left upper corner. I was need of some luxury in my life, this kit was packed in 2001, so it's 13 years old. Time to stitch it at last.

Tämä on Egyptian Extravagancen aloitus. 7,2 ruutua/cm ja Anchorin ja Marlittin langat. Tiedän, aloita keskeltä. Jos näkisit mallin ja kankaan koon - keskeltä aloittaminen ei ole kovin hyvä idea, niinpä aloitin kulmasta - vasemmasta yläkulmasta. Tarvitsin jotain ylellisyyttä elämääni, tämä kirjontapaketti pakattiin vuonna 2001, joten se on 13 vuotta vanha. Aika pistellä se viimeinkin.

It's a finish. Fabric is not blue, actually it's white. I started another one from same leaflet. It's called Thank God for Dirty Dishes. Both are from Cinnamon Stick Pantry leaflet by Stoney Creek.

Valmista tuli. Kangas ei ole sininen, vaan oikeastaan valkoinen. Aloitin toisen samasta lehdykästä. Sen nimi on Thank God for Dirty Dishes eli kiitä Jumalaa likaisista astioista. Molemmat ovat Stoney Creekin Cinnamon Stick Pantry-nimisestä lehtisestä.

Kiss the cook, The Deluge and Peacock

Ok. I haven't been here for a while. Well, almost a half year ago. What have I done? Mostly being extremly busy with all those extra curriculum projects others have "kindly  offered" to me to complete. And they weren't cross stitch.

Ok. Eipä ole tullut oltua täällä aikoihin, No ei ainakaan puoleen vuoteen. Mitä olen puuhannut? Enimmäkseen ollut erittäin kiireinen muiden "ystävällisesti minulle tarjoamien" projektien parissa. Ne eivät ole liittyneet ristipistelyyn.

The first picture is a project I started after making Sistine Chapel the most largest UFO (unfinished object) I have. I'm still in the middle of The Deluge and it's impossible. I can't see the symbols. Have to admit it - I'm old.

Ensimmäinen kuva on projektista, jonka aloitin sen jälkeen kun Sikstuksen kappelista tuli kaikkein suurin kesken jäänyt työ mitä minulla on. Olen edelleenkin keskellä Vedenpaisumusta ja se on mahdoton. En näe symboleja. Täytyy myöntää - olen vanha.

Here is the picture of The Deluge, this far - after 6 months. Haven't done it. Sistine Chapel - perhaps in my next life or give me the eyes of 20 year old.

Because I couldn't see the symbols of The Deluge I started crocheting. It's for grannies so, perhaps it's the best thing to do. I crocheted a while and then I'm back stitching again. The first picture of this page. Kiss the cook. It's from old Stoney Creek leaflet number 25 and called Cinnamon Stick Pantry. Year 1986.

Sistine Chapel part 8 - the Deluge

Does anyone remember Sistine Chapel? I started this one some time ago and had a break - actullay the break was quite long. This is the 8 part of Chapel and called the Deluge. Green and blue parts are under stitching.
I have had problems with my blogger blog, constant error messages, so I'm started to looking for antother blog and it looks like I'm moving in the future, if I find a suitable one.

Muistaako kukaan Sikstuksen kappelin? Aloitn tämän jo aikoja sitten ja pidin taukoa - oikeastaan tauko oli melko pitkä. Tämä on Sikstuksen kappelin 8. osa ja Vedenpaisumus. Vihreät ja siniset alueet ovat pistelyn alla.
On ollut ongelmia bloggerin blogini kanssa, jatkuvaa virheilmoitusta, joten ole alkanut etsiä toista blogia ja näyttää vähän siltä että muutan tulevaisuudessa, jos löydän sopivan.

Birds of A Feather - finished (almost)

It's as done as I can show you. There is no text - yet. And that's the part I don't show you, because text and numbers bind this sampler to a certain time, place and space and where this thing belongs only few can go.
Those who like to understand the symbols I have used. There is a book available. It's German language.

Birds of a Feather - almost halfway

Progress this far. The more I stitch it, the more I like it. At first I didn't like the birds, but now they are looking better. There is a lot of symbolism in this piece, more than meets the eye.
This is actually a wedding piece, but I'm stitching it to the summer cabin.
This piece looks better in real life, taking pictures of cross stitched pieces makes them flat.

Edistyminen tähän asti. Mitä enemmän pistelen sitä, sitä enemmän pidän siitä. Aluksi en tykännyt linnuista, mutta nyt ne näyttävät paremmilta. Tässä työssä on paljon symboliikkaa, enemmän mitä ensivilkaisulla tavoittaa.
Tämä on oikeastaan vihkiäistyö, mutta pistelen sen kesämökille.

Birds of a Feather - Frame started

Birds of a Feather by Long Dog Samplers this far. I liked this pattern in a picture, but now after stitching it fore a while, I'm not sure if I like the birds. Frame is ok and decorative. Perhaps I'm not just in primitive things. I have already used 2 skeins of DMC 310 (black).
If everything goes fine, I'll finish this before Christmas and then it's time to stitch Sistine Chapel, if everthing goes fine....in my life things usually just go...

Täytyy hieman selittää asiaa suomeksi. Birds of A Feather tarkoittaa saman hengen lapsia eli ihmisiä, jotka ovat samanlaisia/samankaltaisia, kun taas Birds of a Feather flock together on sananparsi, joka suomennettuna tarkoittaa lähinnä vakka kantensa valitsee, eli samankaltaiset ihmiset päätyvät yleensä yhteen.

Long Dog Samplers'in suunnittelemat saman hengen lapset tähän asti. Pidin tästä mallista kuvassa, mutta nyt pisteltyäni sitä jonkin aikaa, en ole ihan varma pidänkö linnuista. Reunus on ihan ok ja koristeellinen. Ehkä en vain pidä primitiivisistä asioista. Olen käyttänyt jo kaksi kaartosta DMC:n 310:tä (musta).
Jos kaikki sujuu hyvin, saan tämän valmiiksi ennen joulua ja sitten on jo aika pistellä Sikstuksen kappelia, siis jos kaikki menee hyvin...elämässäni asiat kun tuppaavat vain menemään...

Birds of a Feather -Long Dog Samplers - start

Well, it was a short break. I'm stitching again. This time something to Summer Cottage. I was supposed to stitch something small, but those who know me, I don't stitch miniatures, so something small is rather big.
Before anyone asks, I'll stitch Sistine Chapel, but not now.

No, se oli lyhyt tauko. Taas pistellään. Tällä kertaa jotain kesämökille. Minun piti pistellä jotain pientä, mutta ne jotka tuntevat minut, en pistele miniatyyrejä, joten jotain pientä onkin aika isoa.
Ennen kuin kukaan ennättää kysyä, aion pistellä Sikstuksen kappelia, mutta en nyt.

Last one finished. Actually I had this done weeks ago, but I have been so busy with my other projects that I haven't had time to take a picture of this one.
Some of you may know that stitching is not just a hobby of mine. It's also one of my many professions. So I stitch also other projects for other people. Those project aren't published here.

Viimeinen valmis. Oikeastaan sain tämän tehtyä jo viikkoja sitten, mutta olen ollut niin kiireinen muiden projektien kanssa että minulla ei ole ollut aikaa ottaa kuvaa tästä työstä aikaisemmin.

Meren rannalla valmis - Suojelusenkeli aloitus

Took a bit longer time than others. My excuse this time. I was in Spain and found sun bathing more interesting than stitching. Well, you need a vacation week every now and then.
I have already started next one and also the last one of this kind of stitchings. I hope I'll finish this next week, because I have so many projects waiting...

Kesti hieman kauemmin kuin muiden pistely. Tekosyyni tällä kertaa. Olin Espanjassa ja otin aurinkoa innokkaammin kuin pistelin. Noo.. lomaviikko silloin tällöin on ihan tarpeen.
Olen jo aloittanut seuraavaa ja myös viimeistä tämänkaltaisista töistä. Toivon että saan tämän valmiiksi ensi viikolla, koska niin monet projektit odottavat...

..and another one finished. I noticed a strange thing, the more stressed I'm, the more and faster I stitch. Stressful life gives wings to my needle fingers. And of course stitching and crocheting is a good way to relax. My lastest crochet project Lamp shade is added to my gallery Valokuva-albumi muista käsitöistäni.

...ja taas yksi valmiina. Huomasin oudon asian, mitä stressaantuneempi olen, sitä enemmän ja nopeammin pistelen. Stressi antaa siivet neulasormilleni. Ja tietysti pistely ja virkkaus ovat hyvä tapa rentoutua. Viimeisin virkkausprojekti Lampunvarjostin on lisätty Valokuva-albumi muista käsitöistäni -galleriaan.

This one was easy to stitch, too. Looks like the walls of my guest room are rather soon covered with stitched pieces.
Next one is already coming.

Tämäkin oli helppo pistellä. Näyttää siltä että vierashuoneen seinät on melko pian pistelty täyteen ristipistotöitä.

Yes, this one was quick to stitch. Only 4 other to stitch and my guest room has very different walls. And here is the beginning of the second one. Beginning looks very much same as the first one.

Kylläpä oli nopea pistellä. Enää 4 muuta pisteltävänä ja vierashuoneeni saa hyvin erilaiset seinät. Ja tässä toisen aloitus. Alku näyttää hyvin samanlaiselta kuin ensimmäisessäkin työssä.
