This is my progress before Christmas. I run out of blue, so I have to wait until I receive my thread order. I was hoping to receive it before Christmas, but it looks like it takes a while to get it. Meanwhile? Well, I just enjoy sunshine. (You may think, now I'm kidding. Some of you know where I really am.)
For those nutty readers who don't understand. (I'm very sorry to say this.) I haven't made the coat of arms of Paijat-Hame. I just converted it into cross-stitches. You see the chart I made beside the project itself. I'm not selling the chart or finished piece or giving it to charity, either. This stitching is just for myself. So I'm not breaking any copyright law here.
If you think this is easy, do it yourself! It really is very easy. Stiching is very easy, too. Just two colours. Takes 2 skeins of yellow and 6 skeins of blue.

Tässä on mihin pääsin ennen joulua. Sininen loppui kesken, joten täytyy odottaa kunnes saan lankatilaukseni. Toiveissani oli että saisin sen ennen joulua, mutta näyttää siltä että vie pitemmän ajan. Sillä välin? No, natuin vain auringosta. (Saatatte ajatella että nyt juksaan. Jotkut teistä tietävät missä oikeasti olen.)
Niille pöhköille lukijoille, jotka eivät ymmärrä (Pahoittelen että joudun sanomaan näin.) En ole tehnyt Päijät-Hämeen vaakunaa. Muunsin sen vain ristipistoiksi. Näet tekemäni mallin itse työn vieressä. En myy tätä mallia tai valmista työtä enkä myöskään aio antaa sitä hyväntekeväisyyteen. Tämä pistelys on vain omaan käyttöön. Niinpä en riko mitään tekijänoikeuslakeja täällä.
Jos olet sitä mieltä että tämä on helppoa, tee itse! Se on todella helppoa. Pistely on myös hyvin helppoa. Vain kaksi väriä. Keltaista kuluu 2 kaartosta ja sinistä 6.

Coat of arms of Paijat-Hame
This pattern is converted into cross stitches from a provincial coat of arms of Paijat-Hame by me. Perhaps I shouldn't tell this yet, but there is Vellamo in it. Vellamo is a female spirit of water, spouse of Ahto (Ahti), a male spirit of water. Both characters are familiar from Kalevala, which is Finnish national epic. I live on the shore of lake Paijanne. So I could say I live on mermaid area.

Päijät-Hämeen vaakuna
Muunsin Päijät-Hämeen vaakunan ristipistoiksi. Ehkä ei pitäisi kertoa tätä vielä, mutta vaakunassa on Vellamo. Hän on naispuolinen vedenhaltija eli haltijatar, miespuolisen vedenhaltijan Ahdon (Ahti) puoliso. Molemmat hahmot ovat tuttuja Kalevalasta, joka on suomalaisten kansalliseepos. Asun Päijänteen rannalla. Niinpä voisin sanoa että asun merenneitoalueella.

I don't know how, but it's done now. Next part of Sistine Chapel Series is Sacrifice of Noah. That's a story I don't have in my Bible. It looks like Michelangelo has a different version of Bible in every way. What I'm going to stitch next has nothing to do with Bible. It has something to do with old Finnish pagan religion and the area where I live. That's another story and you see the beginning of it tomorrow.

Enpä tiedä miten, mutta valmiiksi tuli. Seuraava osa Sikstuksen kappeli -sarjaa on Nooan uhraus. Kertomus, joka ei ole omassa raamatussani. Näyttää siltä että Michelangelolla on kaikin tavoin erilainen versio raamatusta. Seuraavalla pistelylläni ei ole mitään tekemistä raamatun kanssa. Sen sijaan sillä on jotain tekemistä vanhan suomalaisen pakanauskonnon kanssa ja asuinalueeni kanssa. Se on toinen juttu ja huomenna näet alun.

I have been busy, but not with this project. I have lost count how many months I have stitched the whole Sistine Chapel Ceiling. Here you seen Adam, Eve and a half of the serpent. Where does all the spare time go? Who has removed 4-5 hours from a day? Lately I haven't had anything done properly. I have been too busy with dealing people I can't stand. They have taken a large piece of my time cake. Life would be too easy if all people really do their work right at first time. I wonder how long I have to stand those time thieves, before I can get rid of them for good. My friends, I don't mean you.

Olen ollut kiireinen, mutta en tämän projektin kanssa. En enää muista kuinka monta kuukautta olen pistellyt Sikstuksen kappelin kattoa. Tässä näkyy Aatami, Eeva ja puolet käärmeestä. Minne kaikki vapaa-aika katoaa? Kuka on poistanut 4-5 tuntia päivästä? Viime aikoina en ole saanut juuri mitään tehtyä kunnolla. Olen yrittänyt tulla toimeen ihmisten kanssa, joita en voi sietää. He ovat ottaneet suuren palan aikakakkuani. Elämä olisikin liian helppoa, jos kaikki ihmiset tekisivät työnsä heti ensimmäisellä kerralla hyvin. Mietin kuinka kauan minun pitää vielä sietää noita aikavarkaita, ennenkuin pääsen niistä eroon lopullisesti. Enkä tarkoita teitä ystäväni.

Last night I had time to start the 6th part of Sistine Chapel Ceiling. Looks more like modern art than a work of Michelangelo. Perhaps after two weeks or more it may look a bit better. What you see is grass now.

Viimeinen muna on valmis. Pääsiäispistelyni ovat valmiini seuraavaan pääsiäiseen. Olen niin paljon jäljessä että olen tosi aikaisessa. Kyllä, kirjoitin nimen oikein, mallin kansilehdellä lukee Perls. Katso vaikka itse.

It's soon time what all Sistine Chapel readers/followers have been waiting for long time. Next time I'll begin 6th part of Sistine Chapel. It's called Expulsion from Eden. Perhaps tomorrow or day after tomorrow. I have been a little bit busy lately and I haven't had very much time for stitch or anything else.

Pian on aika, mitä kaikki Sikstuksen kappelin lukijat/seuraajat ovat odottaneet jo pidemmän aikaa. Seuraavalla kerralla aloitan kuudennen osan Sikstuksen kappelia. Sen nimi on Karkotus paratiisista. Ehkä huomena tai ylihuomena. Olen ollut hieman kiireinen viime aikoina ja aikaa ei ole oikein riittänyt pistelyyn tai mihinkään muuhunkaan.

All three finished, only one pattern left. Because I run out of black aida, I'm going to stitch it beside the very first Easter Egg pattern I stitched on white aida. This is the last one.
I bought a pattern maker program and I have been busy creating new patterns to stitch. I already have too many patterns, now I have even more, I'll never stitch them all. Perhaps if I live over 1 000 years or more. I must be a cross stitch nut. Really.
I also got the fabrics of my Christmas projects yesterday. Only 2 months to Christmas. My Christmas projects are always hush-hush, so you never see them here. Instead of Christmas stitchings you are going to see Sistine Chapel project. But only after I have finished my last Easter Egg.

Kaikki kolme saatu valmiiksi, vain yksi malli enää jäljellä. Koska musta aida loppui, aion pistellä sen ihka ensimmäisen pääsiäismunan viereen, jonka pistelin valkoisella aidalle. Tämä on sitten viimeinen.
Ostin ristipistomallien suunnitteluohjelman ja olen kiivaaseen tahtiin luonut uusia malleja pisteltäväksi. Sain myös Jouluprojektien kankaat eilen. Vain 2 kuukautta Jouluun. Jouluprojektini ovat aina hys-hys, joten et näe niitä koskaan täällä. Joulupistelyiden sijaan tulet näkemään Sikstuksen kappeliprojektia. Mutta vasta kun olen saanut viimeisen pääsiäismunan valmiiksi.

Those of my readers who are members of my Cross Stitch International site, know there has been problems. Lately there has been very much problems with my other internet sites and blogs, too. I'm wondering who does it. Those sites are innocent and free for everyone to use. I know there are a lot of people with too much spare time and stupid brains, because they don't know anything constructive, creative or better to do, they mess up other people's sites. There is nothing heroic in that kind of activity. Just pure stupidity.
Cross Stitch International is fixed now. Until next attack.

Vihreä muna on valmis, enää yksi jäljellä tähän kankaaseen. Seuraavaksi on aika pistellä punainen Faberge-muna, jossa on kultainen verkko.
Ne lukijoistani, jotka ovat Cross Stitch Internationalin jäseniä, tietävätkin että ongelmia on ollut. Viime aikoina on ollut hyvin paljon ongelmia myös muiden nettisivujeni ja blogieni kanssa. Mietin kuka ne aiheuttaa. Nuo sivut ovat ihan viattomia ja kaikkien vapaassa käytössä. Tiedän että on olemassa paljon ihmisiä, joilla on liikaa vapaa-aikaa ja tyhmät aivot, koska he eivät tiedä mitään rakentavaa, luovaa tai parempaa tekemistä, he sotkevat muiden ihmisten sivuja. Siinä toiminnassa ei ole mitään sankarillista. Vain täyttä typeryyttä.

..and one third of this picture is finished. Red Faberge Egg with Silver Flowers is done and I'm just beginning of Green Easter Egg with Ruby Cross. I'll stitch three patterns on this aida fabric. Haven't decided the third one yet. Those other plans I had some months ago didn't work out, so I skipped them. This plan is going on smoothly at least this far. Let's see how long.

This is my progress of yesterday. I learned my plastic canvas lesson and changed plastic to black aida. I know there are readers who are waiting Sistine Chapel progress. Patience, please. I'll stitch these Faberge Easter Eggs first, then it's time to continue Sistine Chapel again. At this time of the year it's time to stitch Halloween patterns or even Christmas patterns, I'm so much behind in everything in my life, so I stitch Easter now. Catching up little by little. Easter Egg is finished!

Yes, I'm still alive. I have received a lots of e-mails. I would have never guessed how many people are interested in my Easter Egg project. As you can see it is finished now. It wasn't easy one. Actually it was quite painful. There were times when I thought I'll never finish it. At times it looked like a Chinese lantern and I decided to finish it as Chinese landern. Well, I was taking a picture of it and zip-zap it colapsed. So it's now Easter Egg again with 4 sides.
During this project I have learned many valuable things. At first don't ever buy a cheap plastic canvas. Some holes are not holes at all and you have to use a sharp needle to push your stitches through. Second, you'll need a pair of tongs to get your needle out of the egg and a hammer to get it in and sometimes it really get stuck. I spent a couple of weeks trying to get the needle out of the egg. I spent many hours unstitching and restitching and unstitching and restitching. Third, don't try to make 3D Easter Egg with 4 pieces of plastic canvas. This is the result. It's not worth of the effort. It's still a beauty.
I still have other patterns of Easter Eggs. I'm not patient person, but I'm stubborn so I'll stitch them, too. Wait and see. I have plans, other plans...

Kyllä, elossa ollaan. Olen saanut paljon e-maileja. Enpä olisi ikinä arvannut kuinka moni on kiinnostunut pääsiäismunaprojektistani. Kuten näkyy se on nyt valmis. Eipä ollut helppo. Oikeastaan se oli aika kivulias. Ajoittain luulin ettei se koskaan valmistuisi. Toisinaan se näytti kiinalaiselta lyhdyltä ja niipä päätin tehdä siitä sellaisen. No, olin ottamassa siitä kuvaa kun se yhtäkkiä lyyhistyi kasaan. Siispä siitä tuli nyt pääsiäismuna, jossa on 4 sivua.
Tämän projektin aikana olen oppinut monia asioita. Ensiksikin älä ikinä osta halpaa muovikangasta. Jotkut reiät eivät oikeasti ole reikiä ja joudut käyttämään terävää neulaa puskeaksesi pistot läpi. Here is where I'm now. I'm adding gold thread and then it's time to put all together. So far it looks good, I wonder what happens next time. If I don't succeed, I'll have 4 similar plastic canvas easter eggs instead of one huge 3D easter egg.

It's a beginning. I have finally decided the fabric. It's plastic canvas and I just noticed I have started with different thread colour than what I have continued. Damn. I have to tear off the beginning. Never start a project in the evening when it's dark.

Red Easter Egg with Golden Flowers I

The flat version of Easter egg on aida is finished. Here the roundness is made by different colours of threads. I'm not sure if DMC light effects threads are the best choice on this design, actually it looks better without. It almost make those flowers disappear. Next it's time to make a 3D egg. At first I have to change colours, because the surface of the egg is going to be round anyway, so the edges can't be dark otherwise the egg would look like striped. I also want flowers to be seen. I still haven't decided which kind of fabric to use or the colour of the fabric. I have to think a couple of days before I continue...

Litteä versio pääsisäismunasta aidakankaalla on valmis. Tässä pyöreys on saatu aikaan eri värisillä langoilla. En ole kuitenkaan varma onko DMC:n light effects-langat paras valinta tähän malliin, oikeastaan se näyttää paremmalta ilman. Kukathan lähes katoavat. Seuraavaksi pitäisi tehdä 3D muna. Aluksi täytyy muuttaa värejä, koska munan pinta on joka tapauksessa pyöreä, niinpä reunat eivät voi olla tummat, muuten muna näyttää raidalliselta. Haluan myös että kukat näkyvät. Enkä ole vielä päättänyt edes minkälaista kangasta käytän tai kankaan väriä. Täytyy ajatella muutama päivä ennen kuin jatkan...

Easter Eggs - Faberge Eggs

My next project is all about Easter Eggs. More precisely cross-stitched Faberge Eggs. I have 5 patterns. Designer is Stoyanka Ivanova from Solaria Gallery. There are more designs in her Gallery also other than Easter Eggs. I'm stiching only 5 eggs. At first I'll stitch sample version on aida and then I'll convert it into 3D version on plastic canvas or other not yet decided fabric. So, I'm going to have 10 eggs, 5 rounds and 5 flats at the end (hopefully). I'm not sure about anything at this point of project. I don't even have all threads yet. Anyway I started the project with those thread I have. Let's see how things goes...

Seuraava projekti onkin sitten pelkää pääsiäismunaa. Tarkemmin sanottuna ristipisteltyjä Faberge-munia. Minulla on 5 mallia. Mallit suunnitteli Stoyanka Ivanova Solaria Gallery.sta. Hänen galleriassaan on muitakin malleja kuin pääsiäismunia. Pistelen vain 5 munaa. Aluksi teen mallikappaleen aidalle ja sitten muunnan sen 3D-muotoon muovikanavakankaalle tai jollekin muulle ei-vielä-valitulle kankaalle. Siispä pistelen lopulta 10 munaa, 5 pyöreää ja 5 litteää (toivotaan niin). Projektin tässä vaiheessa en ole vielä varma mistään. Eipä minulla ole vielä edes kaikkia lankojakaan. Joka tapauksessa aloitin projektin niillä lankoilla mitä minulla on. Katsotaan miten asiat etenevät...

Vera the Mouse - Knitting - day 6 and finished!

Well, I'm so much late that I'm really early. It's never too early to start your Easter projects. Tomorrow you'll see what I'm going to stitch.

Here it is, the beginning of my next smaller project. It's a kit from Lanarte. Designer is Marjolein Bastin and finished size is 23 x 27 cm. Fabric is white Aida 14 count.

Creation of Eve - finished!

Creation of Eve
It's finally done. These last 3 months have been hard ones. My leg is finally operated and wounds are healing. I finished Creation of Eve, keeping my leg upright position with ice bandage, outside temperature +30C and weather rather humid. Next part of Sistine Chapel is Expulsion from Eden. I'm so much behind in everything in my life, so I'm not starting it right away. I need to learn walk once again. So I'll stitch something smaller. Actually my gallery needs to be topped up, because I haven't finished anything for so many months so I'm a bit hurry with my other projects.
Tomorrow (if God allows me to) I'll start Vera the Mouse - Knitting by Marjolein Bastin (Lanarte). Someone might remember I stitched other Vera the Mouse pattern last year. This is going to be a pair to Vera the Mouse - Dressing.

Eevan luominen
Se on viimeinkin valmis. Viimeiset kolme kuukautta ovat olleet raskaanpuoleiset. Jalkani on viimeinkin leikattu ja haavat paranemassa. Eevan luominen tuli valmiiksi jalka ylöspäin jääpaketissa ulkolämpötilan ollessa +30C ja ilmakin oli aika kostea. Seuraava osa Sikstuksen kappelia on Karkotus Paratiisista. Koska olen niin paljon jäljessä kaikesta elämässäni, en aloita sitä aivan heti. Täytyy opetella ensin kävelemään jälleen kerran. Niinpä pistelen jotain pienempää. Oikeastaan gallerianikin kaipaa täydennystä, koska en ole saanut moniin kuukausiin valmiiksi mitään, pitää kiirettä muidenkin projektien kanssa.
Huomena (jos Jumala sen sallii) aloitan Lanarten Marjolein Bastinin suunnitteleman Vera the Mouse - Knitting -työn. Ehkä joku vielä muistaa että pistelin viime vuonna toisen Vera the Mouse -mallin. Tästä tulee siis pari Vera the Mouse - Dressing -mallille.

You would never have guessed it, I'm back to business again. Many things have happened in my life between this time and last time I stitched this piece. Past is past and future is now. Life isn't easy and I think it isn't supposed to be easy either. So stitching continues... next time it's Eve and God what you see. This time just a mirror.

Olisitko arvannut että olen taas mukana kuvioissa. Paljon on ehtinyt tapahtua elämässäni tämän kerran ja viime kerran välillä, kun pistelin tätä työtä. Mennyt on mennyttä ja tulevaisuus on nyt. Elämä ei ole helppoa ja enpä luule että sen on tarkoitettukaan olevan helppoa. Niinpä pistely jatkuu... seuraavalla kerralla näet Eevan ja Jumalan. Tällä kertaa vain peilin.

Another no stitching week

It seems I'm growing a habit. I haven't stitched this week either. Because this is my x-stitching blog, I don't post anything before I actually stitch something. So it may take some time before next entry. And my excuse this time...I haven't had any time to stitch because I have to exercise my leg day and night. See you next time in the future.

Näyttää siltä että tämä tulee tavaksi. Enpä ole pistellyt tälläkään viikolla. Koska tämä on ristipistoblogini, en kirjoita mitään ennenkuin ihan oikeasti pistelen jotain. Siispä saattaa kuulua hieman aikaa ennen seuraavaa blogimerkintää. Ja se tekosyyni tällä kertaa...eipä ole ollut aikaa pistellä, koska olen kuntouttanut jalkaani päivin ja öin. No stitching week

When you haven't slept at all for fortnight it's totally impossible to try to thread a needle. Well, I tried, but I couldn't find the eye of a needle. My pains were already 100% and I went to physiotherapy and got 50% more pain. My medicine cabinet is full of painkillers, which didn't help. Every time I went to a new doctor I got more painkillers. Let's say I understand very well why some people commit suicide because of pains. Lack of sleep and constant pain is a killing combination.
Don't you worry I'm not that type, I bought earlier acupuncture needles and a book how to use them. I was too afraid of use them earlier because of my condition (lack of sleep, hand not steady). The first needle I jabbed into my ankle took away all the pain. Amazing. I couldn't find an eye of the needle, but I found a point to stop my pains. Actually the needle anesthetized my whole leg, but at this point I don't mind. I'm in heaven, no pains at all. Next week I'll stitch Sistine Chapel again.
Next it's time to exercise my ankle again ( 6-10 hours a day without results last two months). I spend hours and hours of stretching, stepping with stepper, driving exercise bike and strength training. Perhaps some day I can walk again.

Kun ei ole nukkunut kahteen viikkoon yhtään on täysin mahdotonta yrittää langoittaa neula. No, sitä tuli yritettyä, mutta en löytänyt millään neulansilmää. Kipuni olivat jo 100% ja menin fysioterapiaan, josta sain vielä 50% enemmän kipuja. Lääkekaappini on täynnä särkylääkkeitä, jotka eivät auttaneet. Aina kun kävin uudella lääkärillä sain lisää särkylääkkeitä. Sanotaanko että ymmärrän nyt oikein hyvin ihmisiä, jotka tekevät kipujen takia itsemurhan. Unenpuute ja jatkuva kipu on tappava yhdistelmä.
Älkää huolestuko, en ole tuota tyyppiä, ostin jo aikaisemmin akupunktioneuloja ja kirjan kuinka käyttää niitä. En aikaisemmin uskaltanut käyttään niitä, johtuen tilastani (unenpuute, käsi ei vakaa). Ensimmäinen neula jonka survaisin nilkkaani poisti kaiken kivun. Hämmästyttävää. En löytännyt neulansilmää, mutta löysin pisteen, josta kipuni lakkaa. Oikeastaan neula puudutti koko jalkani, mutta tässä vaiheessa en välitä siitä. Olen taivaassa, ei yhtään kipua. Seuraavalla viikolla aion pistellä taas ja myös Sikstuksen kappelia.
On aika taas lähteä treenaamaan nilkkaani (6-10 tuntia päivässä viimeisen kahden kuukauden aikana ilman tulosta). Vietän tuntikausia venyttäen, stepaten stepperillä, ajellen kuntopyörällä ja voimaharjoittelussa. Ehkä jonain päivänä kävelen taas.

Creation of Eve
This week - what could I say. Here is my progress, very little.

I haven't slept at all because of the pain in my leg. What happens if you don't sleep. It makes you living death. It's almost impossible to do anything, your mind doesn't work and even the simplest things are very challenging. Last time I slept a good night's sleep was 16.12. 2010. Despite of all that I have managed to update my other blogs and this one, too. Without sleep you have very much time, painful time to do things very slowly. I wish next week is better.

Tämä viikko - mitäpä voisin sanoa. Tässä edistymiseni, hyvin vähäistä.

En ole nukkunut ollenkaan jalkani kivun takia. Mitä tapahtuu jos ei nuku. Sinusta tulee elävä kuollut. Minkä hyvänsä asian tekemisestä tulee mahdotonta, mieli ei enää toimi ja jopa yksinkertaisimmista asioista tulee hyvin haasteellisia. Viimeksi nukuin hyvin 16.12.2010. Kaikesta tästä huolimatta olen pystynyt päivittämään muita blogejani ja tätä myös. Unettomana on paljon aikaa, kivuliasta aikaa tehdä asioita hitaasti. Toivon että seuraava viikko on parempi.

This was better stitching week than last week, even though I wasn't very much at home. It helps a lot when you don't need to ripe anything off. Two men are done, only 3 men, Eve and God left to stitch.

My leg is same, perhaps I have more to tell next week.

Sistine Chapel Ceiling - Creation of Eve - Month 7 continues

Creation of Eve

One step forward, five steps back. Everything was going so nice and I was so happy about my fast progress, until I noticed a misplaced stitch. Sometimes it doesn't matter, but this time it was really in a wrong place, so it meaned I had to rip off nearly everthing I stitched this far on Creation of Eve. I hardly finished this man in a corner. So there is a lots of stitching left on this part of Sistine Chapel.

And my leg. It didn't go better with my ankle either. On Wednesday morning I decided to try a walk without sticks. Well, the first four steps went just fine, until the fifth step came. I heard a sound of crush from my ankle and it hurts like hell again. I ended up having a cast this time. Let's say the stitching of the Sistine Chapel Ceiling is now very challenging, because I can't bend my ankle, so I can't stitch my legs under the frames. I had to invent a new way. Now I'm lying under the fabric and the frames are horisontally over me. It's harder for hands, I have to keep them up when I'm stitching. I have a bad feeling I end up looking like a bodybuilder, when this all is over.

Eevan luominen

Yksi askel eteenpäin, viisi askelta taaksepäin. Kaikki meni niin hyvin ja olin tosi iloinen nopeasta edistymisestä, kunnes huomasin että yksi pisto on väärässä paikassa. Aina sillä ei ole niin väliä, mutta tällä kertaa pisto oli todella pahasti väärin, niinpä se tarkoitti sitä että jouduin purkamaan lähes kaiken mitä olin tähän asti pistellyt Eevan luomisesta. Hädin tuksin sain pisteltyä yhden miehen tuonne nurkkaan. Joten paljon pisteltävää vielä riittää tässä osassa Sikstuksen kappelia.

Ja mitä jalkaan tulee. Eipä sujunut paremmin nilkankaan kanssa. Keskiviikkoaamuna päätin yrittää kävelyä ilman keppejä. No, ensimmäiset neljä askelta sujuivat aivan hienosti, kunnes tuli viides askel. Nilkasta kuului pahaenteinen ääni: kruts. Sitten sattui taas niin pir.. skatisti. Tällä kertaa sain kipsin. Sanottakoon että Sikstuksen kappelin katon pistelystä tulee nyt hyvin haastavaa, koska en voi taivuttaa nilkkaa niin että voisin pitää jalkoja kehysten alapuolella. Täytyi keksiä uusi tapa. Makaan siis nyt kankaan alla ja kehykset ovat vaakatasossa päälläni. Tämä tapa rasittaa enemmän käsiä, koska joudun pitämään niitä ylhäällä pistellessä. Minulla on paha aavistus että alan näyttää kehonrakentajalta ennenkuin tämä on valmis.

Creation of Eve
This is my progress of the first day. Next 2-3 months you'll see how Michelangelo sees this part of biblical story. As always there is lots of men involved in the scene. One of my friends suggests I should stitch tiny fig leaves to them. Well, I try to keep everything blurry and give only hints.

Tässä on ensimmäisen päivän tuotos. Seuraavien 2-3 kuukauden aikana näet kuinka Michelangelo näkee tämän osan raamatun kertomusta. Kuten tavallista tässäkin tapahtumassa on osallisena paljon miehiä. Eräs ystäväni ehdotti että minun pitäisi pistellä pikkuruiset viikunanlehdet heille. No, yritän pitää kaiken hieman sumeana ja jätän asian vihjauksen asteella.

Earth's Children - finished after 1½ months

It's done. It was quick and easy. Well, my quick and easy. It may take a year if you are a beginner. I didn't have the slightest difficulty and all colours match perfectly. I corrected the eye and left one back stitch unstitch on girl's nose, because with that stitch on, her nose would have looked like a potatoe. There are lots of fine details in this picture and they can only be seen in real life.
Next time you'll see the Sistine Chapel again and it's Eve's turn now - beginning of creation of Eve is the name of the game.
My friends already knew the latest news of my leg. It was x-rayed and it has several fractures, so I have a good excuse why I still can't walk. The doctor said I should only walk with my sticks next two weeks more. He didn't forbid me to exercise, so I have exercised it, so I can bend the ankle to 90 degrees (and it was and still is very painful). Anyway it helps me fit under the frames of Sistine Chapel . What wouldn't a x-stitcher do for her hobby? I must be nuts.

Valmista tuli. Se oli nopea ja helppo. Siis, minun nopea ja helpponi. Voi viedä vuodenkin jos olet aloittelija. Mitään vaikeuksia ei ollut ja kaikki värit sopivat yhteen täydellisesti. Korjasin silmän ja jätin yhden tikkipiston pistelemättä tytön nenään, koska se olisi saanut nenän näyttämään potaatilta. Kuvassa on paljon hienoja yksityiskohtia ja ne voi nähdä vain katsomalla kuvaa luonnossa.
Seuraavalla kerralla näet taas Sikstuksen kappelin ja nyt on Eevan vuoro - pelin nimi on Eevan luominen.
Ystäväni tietävätkin viimeisimmät uutiset jalastani. Se röntgenkuvattiin ja siinä on useita murtumia, niinpä minulla on nyt hyvä syy siihen, miksi en edelleenkään kävele. Lääkäri sanoi että saisin kävellä vain keppien kanssa seuraavat kaksi viikkoa. Hän ei kieltänyt kuntoilua, joten olen harjoittanut nilkkaa niin, että se taipuu 90 asteen kulmaan (oli ja on edelleenkin kivuliasta). Joka tapauksessa se auttaa minua sopimaan Sikstuksen kappelin kehyksen alle. Mitäpä ei ristipistelijä tekisi harrastuksensa eteen? Yliskammarini eivät taida olla ihan lämpimillään.

Earth's Children - week 5

There you are where you go. I'm now stitching the sky. At my point of view it looks endless, but I think after a week I have done it. This far everything has gone very smoothly. I'm already getting ready for Creation of Eve or should I say my very very long-term project of Sistine Chapel Ceiling.

And the news of leg: My toes are moving, but my ankle is still. This may sound odd, but I need my ankle to stitch Sistine Chapel Ceiling. I have a loom system, where I stretch the fabric and I need to bend my ankles to get under this loom system. My ankle doesn't bend. I was ready for happy dance, because of my toes, but all my friends said NO!!!!!!!!!! So I just listen to Josephine Baker to ease my pains and exercise more my ankle to get it flexible. I still don't walk.

Olet siellä minne menet. Pistelen nyt taivasta. Näyttää tällä hetkellä loputtomalta, mutta luultavasti viikon jälkeen sekin on tehty. Tähän asti kaikki on sujunut hyvin. Olen jo valmistautumassa Eeva luomiseen vai pitäisiköhän sanoa Sikstuksen kappelin hyvin, hyvin pitkäaikaiseen projektiin.

Ja jalkauutisia: Varpaat liikkuvat, mutta nilkka on hiljaa paikoillaan. Voi kuulostaa oudolta, mutta tarvitsisin nilkkaani, jotta voin pistellä Sikstuksen kappelin kattoa. Minulla on kudontasysteemi, mihin venytän kankaan ja minun pitäisi taivuttaa nilkkoja, jotta pääsen tämän systeemin alle. Nilkka vaan ei taivu. Olin jo valmis tanssimaan riemusta varpaiden liikkumisen vuoksi, mutta kaikki ystäväni sanoivat EI!!!!!!!!! Niinpä kuuntelen kipuihin Josephine Bakeria ja jumppaan lisää nilkkani saadakseni sen joustavammaksi. En edelleenkään pysty kävelemään.

Earth's Children - week 4 or month 1

It's halfway now. I'm stitching the background and hope I have enough blue thread for the sky. Stitching goes fine, it may be finished after two three weeks or even sooner.
My leg isn't going fine. I still can't move my toes or ankle. I have driven quit a long journey with my exercise bike and stepped thousands of steps with my stepper. Not to mention thousands of passive stretches. I'm not quitting, I'll push harder. Perhaps I'm not doing enough.

Puolivälissä ollaan. Pistelen taustaa ja toivon että sininen lanka riittää taivaan pistelyyn. Pistely sujuu hyvin, saattaa valmistua 2-3 viikon päästä tai jopa pikemmin.
Jalan kanssa ei suju yhtä hyvin. En vieläkään pysty liikuttamaan varpaita tai nilkkaa. Olen ajellut pitkät matkat kuntopyörällä ja stepannut tuhansia askeleita stepperilläni. Puhumattakaan tuhansista passiivisista venytyksistä. En aio luovuttaa, aion painaa vielä kovemmin. Ehkä en tee vielä tarpeeksi.

Earth's Children - week 3

As you can see, I'm busy stitching. It may be the best part of my leg injury, I have a lots of time for my dear hobby. The girl looks a bit crooked-eyed now, but I try to fix it before this project is finished.
I have also added new shops and new proverbs (Sayings) to Cross Stitch International site. Have fun there! There is also my webshop in ebay now. Only some DVDs, but I add more things there, when I learn to walk again and organizing things get easier. It's hard to carry things without hands (I need them to walk).
Next it's time to go to restore my ankle, so I drive my exercise bike called Restorator and do a lot of stretching. I live in hope I some day walk again, perhaps not tomorrow or day after tomorrow... but some day. Until then I'll stitch and I don't never give up.

Kuten näkyy, pistelen ahkerasti. Lienee paras osa jalkavammaani, nyt on paljon aikaa rakkaalle harrastukselle. Tyttö näyttää hieman kierosilmäiseltä, mutta yritän korjata sen ennen kuin tämä projekti valmistuu.
Olen lisännyt myös uusia kauppoja ja uusia sananlaskuja (Sayings) Cross Stitch International-sivulle. Pidä hauskaa siellä! Ebayllä on myös pikku putiikkini. Vain DVD:tä, mutta lisään uutta, kunhan opin taas kävelemään ja asioiden järjestely helpottuu. On hankala kuljettaa tavaroita ilman käsiä (tarvitsen niitä kävelyyn).
Sitten onkin taas aika lähteä restoroimaan nilkkaani, ajelen siis restoraattori-nimisellä polkulaitteella ja teen hirvittävän määrän venytyksiä. Elelen toivossa että joku päivä kävelen taas, ehkä en huomena tai ylihuomena... mutta joskus. Siihen asti aion pistellä ja en anna periksi koskaan.

Earth's Children - week 2

Well, I have had plenty of time to stitch and it seems I'll have plenty of time to stitch in the near future, too. My ankle isn't healing very well. So I don't walk very much. I keep my sore leg on CPU when I'm writing this post. I can't write very long because the box of CPU turns warm soon and it isn't good for computer or my ankle. I wish next year is better and not so painful than this year has been. Happy New Year 2011!

No onpahan ollut aikaa pistellä ja näyttää siltä että lähitulevaisuudessa on myös paljon aikaa pistellä. Nilkka ei ole parantunut kovin hyvin. Niinpä en juurikaan kävele. Pidän kipeää jalkaa keskusyksikön päällä kun kirjoitan tätä. En pysty kirjoittamaan kovin pitkään, koska keskusyksikön kotelo alkaa lämmetä ja se ei ole hyväksi tietokoneelle eikä nilkalle. Toivon että ensi vuosi on parempi ja ei niin kivulias kuin tämä vuosi on ollut. Hyvää Uutta Vuotta 2011!

I'm so sorry. I forgot to add the beginning of this project before I left. (Yes, I got a lots of e-mails of that matter). About the project: It's Earth's Children designed by James Himsworth. I'm stitching on 18 count ivory aida. I use two plies of thread. Not very much to show, because I also forgot something else - to take this project with me!!!
My little vacation to Iceland. It started very well and ended as soon as it started. My first step to Iceland soil was fatal. I twisted my ankle. This time the other ankle than last time (some months ago). It's still swollen, bruised and hurts like a hell. I walk with sticks again. I bought my own sticks as a souvenier to keep from Iceland. Never know when it's next time. I became acquainted with different kind of wheelchairs and spent most of my trip sitting on the back seat of a car. Here are pictures. Because I was behind of the camera, there aren't any pictures of me. Better so.

Olen pahoillani. Unohdin laittaa uuden projektini alun tänne ennen lähtöäni. (Niinpä, sainkin paljon sähköpostia tästä asiasta). Projekti: James Himsworthin Maan Lapset. Pistelen norsunluunväriselle 7 ruutua/cm aidakankaalle. Käytän kahta säiettä langasta. Eipä ole paljon näyteltävää, koska unohdin jotain muutakin - nimittäin ottaa tämän projektin mukaani!!!
Pikku-lomani Islannissa. Se alkoi oikein hyvin ja loppui yhtä nopeasti kuin alkoikin. Ensiaskel Islannin maaperälle oli kohtalokas. Nyrjäytin nilkkani. Tällä kertaa kysymyksessä on toinen nilkka kuin viime kerralla (muutama kuukausi sitten). Se on yhä turvoksissa, mustelmilla ja sattuu niin pir...sti. Taas kävellään keppien kanssa. Ostin itselleni omat kepit muistoksi Islannista. Eihän sitä tiedä koska taas nilkka menee. Erilaiset pyörätuolit tulivat tutuiksi ja vietin suurimman osan matka-ajasta istumalla auton takapenkillä. Tässä on kuvia. Koska olin kameran takana, minusta ei ole kuvia. Parempi niin.

Creation of Adam
Well, I didn't quit. It's done now. I don't think how many parts I have left of this Chapel, I just go on stitch by stitch. Next part is Creation of Eve. It looks like the travelling part of my live begins again, so I can't take so large project into the aeroplane. It means Eve must wait. I'll do a smaller piece large enough to get me stitching next 2-3 months. You see the beginning of it next time. See you in Iceland.

No, enpä jättänyt kesken. Se on nyt tehty. En ajattele kuinka monta osaa vielä on jäljellä tätä kappelia, menen eteenpäin pisto kerrallaan. Seuraava osa on Eevan luominen. Näyttää kuitenkin siltä että elämässäni alkaa taas matkustusvaihe, joten en voi ottaa näin isoa projektia mukaan lentokoneeseen. Tarkoittanee että Eeva joutuu odottamaan. Teenpä sitten hieman pienempää työtä kuitenkin kyllin suurta että siitä riittää pistelyä seuraaviksi 2-3 kuukaudeksi. Näet sen aloituksen seuraavalla kerralla. Nähdään Islannissa.

Creation of Adam
God is stitched. Now it's time to stitch the background - endless area of grey and beige. Those who know me understand what an agony it's for me. I love colours, except grey and beige. They are sooo boring. I wish I could stitch the background eyes closed. Next time it's a finish of this part to show off. Perhaps after two weeks of grey and beige stitching. Let's hope I don't quit.

Ne ova niiiiin tylsiä. Kunpa voisinkin pistellä taustan silmät kiinni. Seuraavalla kerralla tämän osion pitäisi olla valmis esiteltäväksi. Creation of Adam
I began to stitch the fourth part of Sistine Chapel Ceiling a week ago and here is the progress this far. Adam is created or should I say stitched. I don't post anything before I have finished God. You can see His hand and index finger (creation finger) now.
This part of Ceiling (Creation of Adam) is the most famous and also most copied part of the ceiling. You may have seen other cross stitch projects and other projects featuring Creation of Adam or only parts of it.

Aatamin luominen
Viikko sitten aloitin Sikstuksen kappelin katon neljännen osan pistelyn. Aatami on luotu vai pitäisiköhän sanoa pistelty. En kirjoita mitään uutta ennenkuin olen saanut Jumalan valmiiksi. Voit nähdä nyt hänen kätensä ja etusormen (luomissormi).
Tämä osa katosta (Aatamin luominen) on kuuluisin ja myös kopioiduin osa kattoa. Saattaa olla että olet nähnyt muita ristipistotyö projekteja ja muita projekteja, joissa esiintyy Aatamin luominen tai osia siitä.

Here it is, all finished. The fabric is not pink, but white. It's quite dark here and the colour change is due to lights. Size of this project is 26 x 48 cms and 102 x 241 stitches.

Next time it's Sistine Chapel Ceiling again and the Creation of Adam.

Tässä se on, kaikki valmiina. Kangas ei ole vaaleanpunainen, vaan valkoinen. Täällä on melko hämärää ja värinvaihdos johtuu valaistuksesta. Työn koko on 26 x 48 cm ja 102 x 241 pistoa.

After a week of stitching and I managed to spill hot water over it last night, so it's a bit wrinkled. It might need a wash before ironing. I stitch all stitches on it before I do anything to smooth those wrinkles. Thank God, the colours didn't run.

I looked at a window just a second ago and I saw this little fellow... isn't it cute in a winter costume?

Viikon pistelin ja eilen illalla kaatui kuumaa vettä työn päälle, on nyt sitten hieman rypyssä. Saattaa olla että tarvitsee pesunkin ennen silitystä. Pistelen kuitenkin kaikki pistot valmiiksi ennenkuin yritän siloitella noita ryppyjä. Luojan kiitos, langat eivät olleet väriä päästävää sorttia.

Katsoin äsken ulos ja näin tämän pikku veitikan... eikös ole söpö talviasussaan?

This is a tribute to belly dancing. I bought this kit about a year ago. It's from Riolis and designer is Galina Skabeeva. It is an old kit and I found it from ebay. Here is the beginning of my new (smaller) project. I need to do smaller projects, because I need to add new stuff to my gallery every once in a while.
My friends have been laughing their heads off since they heard my new hobby - belly dancing. Why they laugh? 1)I do have absolutely NO sense of rhythm, 2) I'm as flexible as steel, 3)I don't look at all like belly dancers, 4) I usually crush everyones toes, even my owns, if they are too near my feet, and I have sharp elbows, too, 5) I have never danced before. Don't you worry, I don't let their laughing stop me. I'm very stubborn and I dance just for me and my own pleasure. I promise, I'll never dance in public.

Tämä on kunnianosoitus vatsatanssille. Ostin tämän kirjontapakkauksen noin vuosi sitten. Malli on peräisin Riolikselta ja mallin suunnitteli Galina Skabeeva. Malli on vanha ja löysin sen ebayltä. Tässä on tämän uuden (pienemmän) projektin alku. Välillä on tehtävä vähän pienempiä töitä, koska galleriani tarvitsee uutta täytettä aina silloin tällöin.
Ystäväni ovat nauraneet hullun lailla siitä asti kun kuulivat uudesta harrastuksestani - vatsatanssista. Miksi he nauravat? 1) Minulla EI ole ollenkaan rytmitajua, 2) Olen yhtä joustava kuin teräs, 3) En näytä ollenkaan vatsatanssijalta, 4) Yleensä murskaan kaikkien varpaat, jopa omani, jos ne ovat liian lähellä jalkojani, ja minulla on myös terävät kyynärpäät, 5) En ole koskaan tanssinut aikaisemmin. Ei syytä huoleen, en anna heidän nauramisensa pysäyttää minua. Olen hyvin itsepäinen ja tanssin itselleni ja omaksi ilokseni. Lupaan sen että en aio koskaan tanssia julkisesti.

Separation of Earth and Water - part 3
Last week was a good stitching week. The weather was stormy and it's getting colder, so I spent my days in the front of fireplace, stitching and drinking hot chocolate. Of course I did many other things, too, because this is my stitching blog, I don't share them. Two men are done, next it's time to stitch God. Thank God, he has his clothes on. Stitching all day naked men, makes your night dreams a bit crazy.
We got the first snow last week. I took some pictures, but they didn't succeed. The snow is still on the ground. It might melt next week, because the weather looks sunny.

Veden ja Maan erottaminen - osa 3
Viime viikko oli hyvä pistelyviikko. Ilma oli myrskyinen ja viilenemään päin, niinpä vietin päiväni takan edessä pistellen ja juoden kuumaa suklaakaakaota. Tottakai tein monia muitakin asioita, mutta koska tämä on ristipistelyblogi, en kerro. Kaksi miestä on tehty, seuraavaksi on aika pistellä Jumala. Luojan kiitos, hänellä on vaatteet päällä. Kun pistelee kaiket päivät alastomia miehiä, unista tulee hieman villejä.
Ensilumi tuli viime viikolla. Otin muutamia kuviakin, mutta ne eivät onnistuneet. Lumi on edelleen maassa. Saattaa sulaa ensi viikolla, koska ilma näyttää aurinkoiselta.

And what's my excuse this time for so little progress? Last week I was busy helping others, people have endless needs and wants, you know. It helped me to forgot my own pains and misery. My ankle is better and I walked today 12 kms again. I didn't say it's painless. I'll get my stitches removed tomorrow. I have been two weeks without sauna and it's a catastrophe to me. I love sauna. I also love to exercise and I couldn't do that either. So I have almost climbed the walls. But tomorrow nothing can stop me...
Here is what I stitched last week: the third part of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel - Separation of Earth and Water. There is just one man in the corner, but there are 3 more coming to other corners and God in the middle. I don't know what those men have to do with Earth and Water, but...because Michelangelo put them there perhaps they have a meaning.
I also made a sandwich loaf today. It's heart-shaped (♠) and called Tropical Island. Pictures are at the end of this post.

Ja mikä on syynä vähäiseen edistymiseeni tällä kertaa? Viime viikolla innostuin auttamaan muita, ihmisten tarpeet ja halut ovat loputtomat, tiedät kyllä. Se auttoi minua unohtamaan omat kipuni ja kurjuuteni. Nilkkani on parempi ja kävelin tänään 12 km, jälleen kerran. En sanonut että kivuttomasti. Saan tikkini poistettua huomenna. Olen ollut kaksi viikkoa ilman saunaa ja se on minulle jo katastrofi. Rakastan saunomista. Pidän myös liikunnasta ja en ole tehnyt sitäkään. Niinpä olen miltei kiipeillyt seinille. Mutta huomenna mikään ei voi estää minua...
Tässä on mitä pistelin viime viikolla: kolmas osa Michelangelon Sikstuksen kappelia - Maan ja Veden erottaminen. Nurkassa on vain yksi mies, vaan lisää tulee vielä 3 muihin nurkkiin ja Jumala keskelle. En tiedä mitä noilla miehillä on tekemistä Maan ja Veden kanssa, mutta... kerran Michelangelo laittoi heidät sinne ehkäpä heillä on jokin tarkoitus.
Tein tänään myös voileipäkakun. Se on sydämenmuotoinen (♠)ja nimeltään Trooppinen Saari. Kuvat tämän tekstin lopussa.

Little did I know, when I last time said I have a plenty of time to stitch...Things started to go to different directions. After I twisted my ankle, I caught a flu virus or several viruses from the waiting room of ER. So I ended up to look like Robert the Reindeer - red swollen nose, red eyes, sore throat, cough etc. Until weekend I managed to get some stitches done, but not in the fabric, but on me! So I started to look like a road kill. Let's say I have had better weeks than last week and I have also had worse ones (and I can tell they have been really bad). I'm still happy, there were some bright spots in my week. Those bright spots know who they are.
The picture is from the beginning of Separation of Earth and Water. I hope this week is a better stitching week.

Vähänpä tiesin, kun viimeksi sanoin että minulla on runsaasti aikaa pistellä...Asiat vaan lähtivät menemään hieman eri suuntiin. Kun olin nilkkani reväyttänyt, sain flunssaviruksen tai useita sellaisia ensiavun odotushuoneesta. Niinpä näytin sitten Petteri Punakuonolta - punainen turvonnut nenä, punaiset silmät, kurkku kipeä, yskää jne. Kunnes koitti viikonloppu ja sain aikaiseksi hieman pistoja, mutta en kankaalle, vaan minuun! Niinpä aloin näyttää jo raadolta. Sanotaanko että minulla on ollut parempiakin viikkoja kuin viime viikko ja myös pahempia (voin kertoa että ne ovat olleet todella pahoja). Olen edelleen iloinen, viikossa oli sentään kirkkaitakin kohtia. Nuo kirkkaat kohdat tietävät itse keitä ovat.

Vera the Mouse - Dressing is finished now. It was very easy and quick to stitch. Tomorrow was time to see the framer, but...
This is where the quick and easy part comes to an end and troubles start. I don't tell you how (it's too awkward), but I managed to twist my ankle and I spent yesterday at hospital. All plans I had for this week are cancelled. I walk with sticks now.
The good news are, I have a plenty of time to stitch Sistine Chapel. So I'll start Separation of Earth and Water tomorrow. Bad news are there are extra rows in the chart and I have to shrink the persons or remove rows, unless I don't want to get a picture what Picasso used to paint. I contacted the support group of Sistine Chapel Stitchers and I got a hint to use colour chart instead of using black & white one. I'm printing the colour chart right now... I hope it's better.
And I'm not giving up...

Vera the Mouse - Dressing -työ on nyt valmis. Se oli hyvin helppo ja nopea pistellä. Huomena oli tarkoitus vierailla kehystäjällä, mutta...
Tässä kohtaa loppuukin sitten se nopea ja helppo osuus ja ongelmat alkavat. En aio kertoa miten (se on aivan liian noloa), mutta onnistuin reväyttämään nilkkani ja vietin eilisen päivän sairaalassa. Tämän viikon suunnitelmat on sitten kaikki peruttu. Kävelen keppien avulla.
Mitä tulee hyviin uutisiin, niin nyt sitten on runsaasti aikaa pistellä Sikstuksen kappelia. Niinpä aloitan Maan ja Vesien erottamisella huomena. Huonot uutiset taas ovat että mallikartassa on ylimääräisiä rivejä ja minun täytyy kutistaa henkilöitä tai poistaa rivejä, ellen halua saada aikaiseksi taideteosta, jollaisia Picassolla oli tapana maalata. Otin yhteyttä Sistine Chapel Stitchers'n tukiryhmään ja sain vihjeen käyttää värillistä mallia mustavalkoisen sijaan. Tulostan juuri värillistä mallia... Toivon että se on parempi.
Ja periksi ei anneta...

Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel Ceiling - Month 4 and a finish

The second part of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel Ceiling is finished, only 43 parts to stitch. It has been raining since I came home, so I have skipped gardening and stitched instead. My garden is a mess, but I can't help it. Everything is wet.
My mom phoned me a couple of days ago. It sounds like she and my dad had forgiven me. I'm reliefed. When I left Finland, they were very upset, because of what I did to my hair (straightened, bleached and cut short). It's just hair - for Heaven's sake, it grows back! They made me feel like I have spoiled my looks for good.
Actually my mom needs help with apples. This year is a very good apple year here and extra hands are needed for harvesting and preservation. So I'll be up to elbows in apple juice. They say apple juice is good for skin. I hope so.
I'll take Vera the Mouse - Dressing piece with me, I might have time to stitch it in the evenings. It'll be my next finish and after Vera the Mouse, it's Sistine Chapel again.

Toinen osa Michelangelon Sikstuksen kappelin katosta on valmis, enää 43 osaa pisteltävänä. Siitä asti kun tulin kotiin on sataa tihuttanut, joten olen jättänyt puutarhan hoidon väliin ja pistellyt sen sijaan. Puutarha on yhtä sotkua, mutta sille ei voi nyt mitään. Kaikki on märkää.
Äiti soitti pari päivää sitten. Kuulostaa siltä että hän ja isä ovat antaneet minulle anteeksi. Olen helpottunut. Kun lähdin Suomesta, he olivat hyvin järkyttyneitä siitä mitä tein tukalleni (suoristus, valkaisu ja lyhyeksi leikkaus). Se on vain tukkaa - Herran tähden, se kasvaa takaisin! Ihan kun olisin pilannut ulkonäköni lopullisesti.
Oikeastaan äitini tarvitsee apua omenoiden kanssa. Tämä vuosi on hyvä omenavuosi täällä ja sadonkorjuuseen ja säilöntään tarvitaan lisävoimia. Niinpä tulen olemaan kyynärpäihin saakka omenamehussa. Sanotaan että omenamehu on hyväksi iholle. Toivon niin.
Otan Vera the Mouse - Dressing -työn mukaani. Saattaa olla että iltaisin jää aikaa pistellä sitä. Se tuleekin olemaan seuraava valmiiksi tulevat työ ja sen jälkeen taas Sikstuksen kappelia.

Home sweet home. It's always nice to see new places and meet new people & make friends, but it's also so sweet to be at home.
The very first thing I did in the following morning of my return, was to walk and climb 12 kms to Aurinkovuori ("Sunny Mountain" in English) to watch our small village. Air was so fresh and the village so quiet. I didn't see anybody on my way up. Just me and the pure nature. Heaven. O.K. It was pouring rain and I was all wet and muddy - still happy.
The contrast with my simple country life here and the living in the luxury cruising ship is enormous. They are both totally different worlds.
I started to stitch Vera the Mouse by Marjolein Bastin (Lanarte Collection). Here is what I managed to stitch during the cruise.
Next time I'll be back with Sistine Chapel. I hope I'll have a finish of second part to show...

Oma koti kullan kallis. Onhan se kiva nähdä uusia paikkoja ja tavata uusia ihmisiä & saada ystäviä, kuitenkin kotona on hyvä olla taas kerran.
Paluupäivän jälkeisenä aamuna lähdin ensitöikseni kävelemään ja kiipeämään Aurinkovuorelle, vain katsellakseni kylää. Ilma oli todella raikas ja kylä niin hiljainen. En nähnyt ketään matkalla ylös. Vain minä ja puhdas luonto. Taivaallista. O.K. Satoi kaatamalla ja olin litimärkä ja mutainen - kuitenkin onnellinen.
Kontrasti yksinkertaisen maalaiselämäni ja luksusluokan risteilyaluksen elämän välillä on valtava. Molemmat ovat ihan eri maailmansa.
Aloitin Marjolein Bastinin (Lanarte Collection) Vera the Mouse -työn. Tässä on kuva siitä mitä ehdin pistellä risteilyn aikana.
Seuraavalla kerralla palaan taas Sikstuksen kappelin kanssa. Toivottavasti minulla on jo silloin valmiina toinen osa, jota esitellä.

Creation of Sun, Moon and Plants
A promise is always a promise. I usually do what I promise, so here it is. I promised update of my project as soon as I finish God and before I leave Finland. Both promises are now fulfilled. I'll be away for a while and I don't take Sistine Chapel with me because it's so large. There is a smaller project, I might take. I hope I have time to stitch it, because my schedule is tight, perhaps in the evenings. One of my friends gave me two thick books to read and I have other extra curriculum programs, too. So there is no chance to get bored - more chance to get stressed.
Only heaven knows when I'm gonna finish the whole Ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

Auringon, Kuun ja kasvien luominen
Lupaus on aina lupaus. Teen yleensä mitä lupaankin, joten tässä se on. Lupasin päivittää projektiani heti kun saan Jumalan valmiiksi ja ennenkuin lähden Suomesta. Molemmat lupaukset on nyt täytetty. Olen poissa jonkin aikaa ja en ota Sikstuksen kappelia mukaani, koska se on niin iso. On eräs pienempi työ, jonka saatan ottaa. Toivottavasti vaan on aikaa pistellä sitä, koska aikatauluni on tiukka, ehkä iltaisin. Yksi ystävistäni antoi minulle kaksi paksua kirjaa luettavaksi ja minulle on myös järjestetty muuta ohjelmaa. Joten eipä tule aika pitkäksi - saattaa jopa stressiä pukata.
Taivas tietää koska saaan valmiiksi koko Sikstuksen kappelin katon.

I don't know what you see, but as long as I have been stitching this part I don't see very much Sun, Moon or Plants. There is a person wearing crimson robe and it looks like he is mooning. I think Michelangelo had a sense of humor. This is tame compared to what's coming.

Creation of Sun, Moon and Plants

I admit it, I haven't stitch much during the last month. Why? At first July was a very HOT month in Finland. If the temperature is above +30 C for weeks it really isn't a pleasure to stitch anything. So I spent most of the days picking berries in the forest and rest of the days I was sitting in the lake. My freezer is full of all kind of berries, so it's time to start stitch again.

This is the second part of Sistine Chapel Ceiling - doesn't look very much anything yet. I have stitched a little bit background.

Auringon, kuun ja kasvien luominen

Myönnetään, en ole pistellyt kovinkaan paljon viime kuussa. Miksikö? Ensinnäkin heinäkuu oli hyvin KUUMA kuukausi Suomessa. Jos lämpötila on yli + 30 C viikkoja, minkään pistely ei ole kivaa. Niinpä vietin suurimman osan päivistä metsässä poimien marjoja ja loput päivät istuinkin sitten järvessä. Pakastimeni on nyt täynnä kaikenlaisia marjoja, niinpä on aika aloittaa pistelyt jälleen.

Tämä on toinen osa Siksuksen kappelin kattoa - ei näytä vielä juuri miltään. Olen pistelly vasta vähän taustaa.

It's finished now! I loved to stitch everything else, but frames. As you can see I'm stubborn, so I usually finish all I start - sooner or later. Next week is for the Sistine Chapel stitching.

Everything has gone just as I haven't planed it. I'm still stuck with frames. My plan was to stitch those frames last week. As you can see, there is still 8 rows stitching left there. What I have done except worshipped the sun, updated my other sites, gardening, walking in the forests, shopping (sales, sales, sales), trying to find flattering bikinis, read a lot etc....
I live in hope, I'll finish this project next week. Let's see.

Kaikki on mennyt aivan kuten en ole suunnitellut. Olen edelleen kiinni raameissa. Suunitelmani oli pistellä nuo raamit viime viikolla. Kuten näkyy, edelleenkin puuttuu 8 riviä. Mitä ihmettä olen tehnyt paitsi palvonut aurinkoa, päivittänyt muita sivujani, hoitanut puutarhaa, kävellyt metsissä, shoppaillut (ale, ale, ale), yrittänyt löytää bikineitä, jotka sopivat vartalolle, lukenut paljon jne....
Elelen siinä toivossa että saan tämän projektin valmiiksi ensi viikolla. Katsotaan miten käy.

Frames, frames those boring frames. Why on earth I always pick a piece with stitchable frames? Then I get bored with them. There is not very much frames and background left and I'm really missing Sistine Chapel.
This was rather nice week, the sun was shining and because I love sun bathing, I didn't stitch very much. Today I almost forgot to add my progress, perhaps my mind is sunburn. My friends say I'm getting skin cancer. Sunbathing is my only bad habit, I don't drink, smoke or use drugs and I even eat healthy and exercise daily.

Raamia, raamia, tylsää raamia. Miksi ihmeessä valitsen aina työn, jossa on pisteltävät raamit? Sitten kyllästyn niihin. Ei olisi enää paljon raamia ja taustaa jäljellä ja kaipaan jo Sikstuksen kappelia.
Oli ihan kiva viikko, aurinko paistoi ja koska rakastan auringonottoa, en pistellyt kovinkaan paljon. Tänään melkein unohdin lisätä edistymiseni, ehkä aurinko on polttanut jo aivoni. Ystäväni sanovat että saan ihosyövän. Auringonotto on ainoa paheeni, en juo, polta tai käytä huumeita ja minä jopa syön terveellisesti ja liikun päivittäin.

Now you see those flowers! I have stitched also a little bit of frames and started the background. This project is taking more time I thought it would do. I wonder where does the time go... days seem to have less hours than my childhood.
My stitching friends are worried if I have enough projects, so they keep updating my e-mailbox with new and old interesting cross stitch patterns. I just counted if I stitch next 1000 years, I'm not even a halfway finished. Better not count, just stitch. Perhaps after next 2-3 weeks I'm back stitching Sistine Chapel, which is another story.

No niin nyt näette ne kukkaset! Olen pistely myös hieman kehyksiä ja aloittanut taustaosion. Tämä projekti näyttää vievän enemmän aikaa kuin kuvittelinkaan. Ihmettelen mihin aika oikein menee... päivässä vaikuttaa jotenkin olevan vähemmän tunteja kuin lapsuudessani.
Ristipistoilevat ystäväni ovat huolissaan josko minulla riittää tarpeeksi projekteja, joten he päivittävät sähköpostilaatikkoani uusilla ja vanhoilla mielenkiintoisilla ristipistomalleilla. Laskeskelin juuri että jos pistelen seuraavat 1000 vuotta, en ole saanut edes puoliakaan valmiiksi. Parasta olla laskematta, keskittyä vain pistelyyn. Ehkäpä 2-3 viikon kuluttua olen taas pistelemässä Sikstuksen kappelia, joka on ihan toinen juttu.

Well, I promised flowers and I'll give you leaves. It was a nice sunny week until weekend came and wind & rain. I have stitched the outlines of flowers, so they are there, I must just add a little bit colour and flowers are alive.

It's summer and you are more relaxed, so I usually haven't any diffulties to say NO, but this week I have said too much YES to everything and it leads to troubles in the long run. I promised to help Tea with her Cross Stitch News Site...and now I'm wondering where I'll get the time to do it. I have hands full of my own projects and works. There is only 24 hours in a day. Good Lord give me 25!

Tuota noin, lupasin kukkia ja annan lehtiä. Viikko oli aurinkoisen kaunis viikonlopun tuloon asti, sitten alkoi tuuli & sade. Olen sentään pistelly kukkien ääriviivat, joten ne ovat siellä, täytynee lisätä hieman väriä ja kukat heräävät eloon.

On kesä ja sitä on hieman rentoutuneempi kuin tavallisesti, niinpä niin, minulla ei yleensä ole mitään vaikeuksia sanoa EI, mutta tällä viikolla sanoin KYLLÄ ihan kaikkeen ja se johtaa vaikeuksiin pitemmän ajan kuluessa. Lupasin auttaa Teaa hänen Cross Stitch News -sivunsa kanssa... ja nyt ihmettelen mistä ihmeestä revin aikaa siihen. Minulla on kädet täynnä omia projekteja ja töitä. Päivässä on vain 24 tuntia. All cats are done + a little mouse. It's time to start stitching backgrounds and frames. Weather has been so fine, I have almost skipped the stitchings and spend my time in the garden. Everything is so green and beautiful, every day more flowers. Perhaps I have next time some flowers with Midnight Moggies.

Kaikki kissat on tehty + pieni hiiri. On aika aloittaa taustan ja kehysten pistely. Ilmat ovat olleet todella hyvät, olen melkein jättänyt pistelyt väliin ja viettänyt aikaani puutarhassa. Kaikki on niin vihreää ja kaunista, joka päivä enemmän kukkia. Ehkäpä seuraavalla kerralla minulla on hieman kukkia Keskiyön Kattien seurana.

A week has gone and I have been busy stitching. Rainy days are very good stitching days, I can skip gardening and just listen to rain drops and my needle. I have stitched two moggies, only two left to stitch.

Viikko on mennyt ja olen pistelly ahkerasti. Sadepäivät ovat hyviä ompelupäiviä, voin jättää puutarhanhoidon väliin ja vain kuunnella sadetta ja neulaani. Olen pistellyt jo kaksi kattia, toiset kaksi vielä jäljellä.

It was time to wrap the Sistine Chapel Ceiling into plastic for a while and do something else. Here is the beginning of "something else". It's a bit different what I usually do. Designer of this work is Vivienne Powers. Fabric is navy blue aida and colours are from Anchor. Pattern is published in Cross Stitch Gold magazine, issue 24.

Oli aika kääriä Sikstuksen kappelin katto muoviin ja tehdä jotakin muuta. Tässä on alku "johonkin muuhun". Se on hieman erilainen mitä yleensä teen. Tämän työn suunnitteli Vivienne Powers . Sometimes life means sailing from a problem to another problems. There really has been very much problems with this project. I started it again 28.3.2010. As you can see I use two handles of brush as a frame and large hair clips to fasten the fabric. I'm now a bit over halfway of the first part. Stitching is very slow, because I count every stitch thrice. I don't want to make same mistake twice. If I have estimated my stitching speed right I'll finish the whole project after 12 years. So it's year 2022!

This wasn't the only problem. I had to move Finnish Cross Stitch Pages to new address, because some passwords ended up to wrong hands. New address is: http://ristipistosivut.suntuubi.com . I had to change everything. Now it's done I hope you like the new fresh look.

Joskus elämä on purjehdusta yhdestä ongelmasta toisiin. Tämän projektin kanssa ongelmia onkin riittänyt. Aloitin sen alusta 28.3.2010. Kuten näette käytän kahta harjanvartta kehyksenä ja suuria hiusklipsejä kankaan kiinnittämiseen. Olen hieman yli puolenvälin ensimmäistä osaa. Pistely on hyvin hidasta, koska lasken kaiken kolmesti. En halua tehdä samaa virhettä kaksi kertaa. Jos olen arvioinut pistelynopeuteni oikein, koko projekti valmistuu 12 vuoden päästä. Siis vuonna 2022!

Tämä ei ole ollut ainoa ongelma. Minun piti siirtää Suomalaiset ristipistosivut uuteen osoitteeseen, koska osa salasanoista päätyi vääriin käsiin. Uusi osoite on http://ristipistosivut.suntuubi.com . Jouduin muuttamaan kaiken. Nyt se on tehty, toivottavasti pidätte uudesta freesistä luukista.

AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!

Almost a week has gone and I almost finished the first page of the charts. I took a second page and AAAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!, noticed I have misplaced A STITCH. All my good work gone - in vain. My friends, who don't stitch say it's just a stitch, the project is huge no-one will ever notice it. But I will notice. I will care. I made this mistake on the first row and it has multiplied... so it means frogging and start it all over again. Or I can move to plan B. Plan B is no unstitching and start it all over again with a different fabric. So I'm moving to 14 count aida. It makes this project even larger, but easier to stitch and count. I hope I have enough threads, because I counted the consumption of threads on 18 count aida. I have a bad feeling I'll need plan C, D and E before I'll finish this one.
Now I'm going to stitch some weeks before any posting. I'm angry at myself. I should have counted thrice. I counted only twice. It's time to be humble.

Melkein viikko meni ja sain melkein valmiiksi ensimmäisen sivun mallia. Otin toisen sivun ja AAAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!, huomasin että YKSI PISTO on väärässä paikassa. Kaikki hieno työni mennyttä - täysin turhaa. Ystäväni, jotka eivät pistele, sanovat että sehän on vain yksi pisto, projekti on iso, kukaan ei huomaa sitä. Mutta kun minä huomaan. Minulle se ei ole yhdentekevää. Tein tämän virheen ensimmäisellä rivillä ja se on kertautunut... niinpä luvassa olisi purkamista ja uudelleen aloitus. Tai voin siirtyä suunnitelma B:hen. Suunnitelma B on aloittaa uudelleen uudelta kankaalta ja unohtaa purkaminen. Siispä siirryn aidakankaaseen 5,5 ruutua/cm. Se tekee tästä työstä vieläkin suuremman, mutta helpomman pistellä ja laskea. Toivon vaan että langat riittävä, koska satuin laskemaan langankulutuksen aidakankaan 7,2 ruutua/cm mukaan. Pahoin aavistelen että joudun vielä siirtymään suunnitelmiin C, D ja E ennenkuin tämä työ on valmis.
Nyt aioin pistellä eräänkin viikon ennen seuraavaa blogikirjoitusta. Olen vihainen itselleni, olisi pitänyt laskea kolmesti. Laskin vain kaksi kertaa. On aika olla nöyrä.

Separation of Light from Dark
Today 23.3.2010 is the beginning day of this huge stitching project. The finished project has 564 x 1114 stitches, it will be 628 296 stitches altogether. This is the first part of 45. I'm using 18 count aida and the fabric is size of a bed linen. This project is not for beginners. Here is a link, where you can see what I'm talking about. It's the ceiling of the Cistine Chapel in the Vatican.
Of course I'm going to stitch some smaller projects every now and then. So you don't get bored with ceilings.
What you see in a picture is just a small part of border.

Regal Domain - Day 33

It's done. Last week I had finally time to stitch. Size of this project was/ is 45 x 30 cm. So it's tiny if compared to my next project.

About the Sistine Chapel. Last week I received most of the threads. Only the US shipment is still on it's way. I have organized all threads for the Chapel, printed charts and cut the fabric. I don't usually start a project without all threads. Now I'm going to make an exception, this project has so much threads that I can stitch other areas while waiting the right threads to come.
Tomorrow it's time to start. Because I'm a bit rebel I'll start at the middle in God's footprints. It's time to create Light and Darkness.

Se on tehty. Viime viikolla oli vihdoinkin aikaa pistellä. Tämän työn koko oli/on 45 x 30 cm. Joten se on pikkuruinen, jos sitä vertaa seuraavaan projektiini.

Mitä tulee Sikstuksen kappeliin. Viime viikolla sai suurimman osan langoista. Vain Yhdysvaltojen lähetys on edelleen matkalla. Olen järjestellyt kaikki langat kappelia varten, printannut mallit ja leikannut kankaan. En yleensä aloita projektia ilman kaikkia lankoja. Nyt teen poikkeuksen, tässä työssä on niin paljon lankoja että voin pistellä muita alueita, sillä aikaa kun odottelen varsinaisten lankojen saapumista.
Huomenna on aloitusaika. Koska olen hieman kapinallinen aloitan keskeltä Jumalan jalanjäljissä. On aika luoda Valkeus ja Pimeys.

Regal Domain - Day 28

It's almost halfway done now. I have stitched the lions, only background needs stitches. Actually this one looks much better in picture than in real life. Amazing how a picture can lie.

I finished my organization of sewing room. All charts and kits are in the cabins now. That's good. Now on I like to keep them organized.

The day before yesterday I received the first parcel of my thread orders. I have been organizing the threads for Sistine Chapel (my next project). There is still lots and lots of organizing. 669 skeins is quite a number. I'm still waiting for the last two parcels of threads. More organizing. I'm sure I get the threads done before I finish this current project. My only concern is if I have the custom-made frame in time. I haven't any other choices than wait. The frame either is finished in time or not.

Se on nyt miltei puoliväliin asti tehty. Olen pistellyt leijonat, vain taustasta puuttuu enää pistoja. Oikeastaan tämä näyttää paljon paremmalta kuvassa kun oikeasti. Hämmästyttävää miten kuva voi valehdella.

Sain ompeluhuoneen järjestelyn tehtyä. Kaikki mallit ja työt ovat nyt kaapeissa. Se on hyvä. Tästä eteenpäin haluan että ne pysyvät järjestyksessä.

Toissapäivänä sain ensimmäisen paketin lankatilauksestani. Olen järjestellyt lankoja Sikstuksen kappelia varten (seuraava projektini). Järjesteltävää on vielä hyvin, hyvin paljon. 669 kaartosta on melkoinen määrä. Odottelen edelleen kahta viimeistä lankapakettia. Lisää järjesteltävää. Olen aivan varma että saa lankahomman valmiiksi ennenkuin tämä nykyinen projekti valmistuu. Ainoa huolenaiheeni on josko mittatilauksena valmistuva ompelukehys ehtii valmiiksi ajoissa. Eipä tässä ole muutakaan vaihtoehtoa kuin odotella. Kehys joko valmistuu ajoissa tai sitten ei.

Regal Domain - Day 21

As you can see, I have been busier than last week. I have a good reason, it's a secret, but don't you worry I'll tell it until I'll finished this blog post. I have stitched almost the head of the lion, those red spots aren't stitched yet. That's one reason why I don't like to stitch on a painted canvas. The fabric shows through unstitch areas.
What comes to my sewing room, I have almost organized my charts and kits. Only one box is left. If I work hard it's done today. Well, I haven't touched the magazines and books after they got me hooked on. They are another story and other organization process.
And now is time to reveal the secret. It's my next huge project. Ok. Some of you might think I'm totally nuts. (My relatives already know I'm.) Here it comes: I'm going to stitch Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel Ceiling. Yep. It took 4 years (1508-12) to Michelangelo to paint it. Let's see how long it takes to me to stitch it.
It has been done already by Joanna Roberts. She stitched it 9 years. Hats off for that.
And if you get interested in, you can buy your own charts here Lulu. The book has 280 pages. And you'll need 421 colours and 699 skeins of thread and a very large fabric of course.
I have already started to organize the threads of Sistine Chapel. I had almost all colours at home, I'm only 41 colours short and about 150 skeins. I made 3 thread orders, because 6 of the colours can't be find in Europe. Two thread orders are from UK and one from US. It takes days even to organize threads.
I have stiched now 1/3 of Regal Domain so I'll have a plenty of time to organize the threads before I'll start.

Kuten näet, olen ollut ahkerampi kuin viime viikolla. On hyvä syykin, se on salaisuus, mutta älä hätäile, kerron sen ennenkuin tämä blogiposti on kirjoitettu. Olen melkein saanut valmiiksi leijonan pään, punaiset läiskät on vielä pistelemättä. Siinä yksi syy miksi en tykkää pistellä maalattua kangasta. Kangas näkyy kirjomattomilta alueilta läpi.
Mitä ompeluhuoneeseeni tulee, olen saanut lähes järjesteltyä mallit ja pakkaukset. Vain yksi laatikko on jäljellä. Jos teen kovasti töitä sekin on tehty tänään. Lehtiin ja kirjoihin en ole koskenut sen jälkeen kun jäin niihin koukkuun. Ne ovat toinen juttu ja toinen järjestelyprosessi.
Ja nyt on aika paljastaa salaisuus. Se on seuraava iso työni. Ok. Jotkut teistä voivat ajaltella että olen ihan kaheli. (Sukulaiseni tietävät että olen.) Tässä se tulee: Aion pistellä Michelangelon maalaaman Sikstuksen kappelin katon. Jep. Sen maalaaminen vei 4 vuotta (1508-12) Michelangelolta. Katsotaanpa miten kauan minulta kestää pistellä se.
Se on jo ainakin kertaalleen tehty Joanna Robertsin toimesta. Hän pisteli sitä 9 vuotta. Nostakaa hattua tapahtumalle.
Ja jos kiinnostuit, niin voit ostaa oman mallin täältä Lulu. Kirjasssa on 280 sivua. Ja tarvitset 421 väriä sekä 699 kaartosta (dokkaa) ja erittäin suuren kankaan, luonnollisesti.

Usually I have lots of time and I get things done quickly. Perhaps I'm getting old. The time seems to fly all the time faster and faster. A week has gone and what I have done? A couple of stitches and visited Stockhom, Sweden. Here are the pictures of exhibitions of Nordiska Museet.

Regal Domain - Day 7

Where does the time go? I'm all the time doing something and it feels like I don't get anything done. Lately I have been pushing snow around. The more I push the more it's snowing. I have continued my organizing process in the sewing room. I got more folders last week. There is still plenty of organizing left. Too much charts and kits. I try not think when I'm going to stitch them. I'm focusing the organization process now.
I haven't stitch much because of my other duties. Here is the progress of last week.

Minne aika oikein menee? Tee koko ajan jotain ja tuntuu siltä että en saa mitään aikaiseksi. Viime aikoina olen työnnellyt lunta ympäriinsä. Mitä enemmän työnnän, sen enemmän sitä sataa. Olen jatkanut ompeluhuoneen järjestelyprosessia. Sain lisää kansioita viime viikolla. Edelleenkin järjesteltävää riittää. Liian paljon ristipistomalleja ja -töitä. Yritän olla ajattelematta milloin aion pistellä ne. Keskityn vain järjestelyprosessiin tällä hetkellä.
En ole pistellyt paljoakaan johtuen muista töistä. Tässä on viimeviikon edistyminen.

Regal Domain - Day 1

This is my new project. It's easy. Design is printed on fabric. I use six strands and needle is like an oar, if I compare it to my late finished project. This project is called Regal Domain by James Himsworth. Perhaps the hartest part of this project was to sort the colours. There are 32 colours in this project, but they are partly combined, so it makes 50 colours altogether. The meaning of combination is to produce a shaded effect. It makes the picture more alive.
Stitches used in this project are Continental or Basketweave Stitch, Back Stitches, Couching, Lazy Daisies and French Knots.

Tässä on uusin projektini. Se on helppo. Malli on painettu kankaalle. Käytän kuutta osaa langasta eli koko lankaa ja neula muistuttaa airoa, jos vertaan sitä edelliseen jo lopetettuun projektiin. Tämä projekti on James Himsworthin käsialaa ja nimeltään Regal Domain. Ehkäpä vaikein osa tätä projektia oli järjestellä langat. Tässä projektissa on 32 väriä, mutta niitä käytetään osittain yhdisteltyinä, niinpä niistä tulee 50 värisävyä yhteensä. Yhdistelyn tarkoitus on saada aikaan värien osittainen sulautuminen toisiinsa. Se saa kuvan elämään.
Tämän projetin pistoja ovat kanavapistot (petit point -pistot, vinot gobeliinipistot) tikkipistot, sidepistot, linnunsilmäpistot (yksittäiset ketjupistot) ja solmupistot.

Over 4 months and it's finished now. I haven't found a suitable round table for it, yet. My next project is going to be easy. You'll see tomorrow.
My sewing room and organization: I ordered more folders and meanwhile I'm waiting for them, I decided to organize shelves and magazines. Everything went fine during the first 4-5 magazines...then I began to read and read and read. Result: I haven't had anything done, I have been addicted to Cross Stitch Magazines. I want to stitch them all, so many gorgeous projects. Too many gorgeous projects. I'm going to need rehab. Are there clinics for Cross Stitch Magazine Addicts? What ever you do, don't open the cross stitch mags when organizing them, how alluring the cover picture might be. It's very easy to become addict. Too easy.

I found a table and silicone studs for support the glass. No flat stitches here.

Yli 4 kuukautta ja se on valmis nyt. En ole vielä löytänyt sopivaa pyöreää pöytää tälle. Seuraava projektini on helppo. Näet sen huomena.
Ompeluhuoneeni ja järjestely: Tilasin lisää kansioita ja sillävälin kun odottelen niitä, päätin järjestellä hyllyt ja lehdet. Kaikki sujui hienosti ensimmäisten 4-5 lehden ajan... sitten rupesin lukemaan ja lukemaan ja lukemaan. Tulos: En saanut mitään aikaiseksi, olen kehittänyt addiktion ristipistolehdille. Haluan pistellä ne kaikki, niin monta upeaa projektia. Liian monta upeaa projektia. Taidan tarvita vieroitusta. Onko ristipistolehtiaddikteille vieroitusklinikoita? This is the last round and then it's finished. It's all satin stitches now. I have an idea for a finish. Just have to find a nice round table with glass and put this piece under tabletop. I'm not rich enough to invest an antique table, so I'll browse flea markets, thrift stores and second hand stores. Keep fingers crossed! What about my organization of sewing room? Well, I see the floor now. All cardboard boxes are gone. My two new cabins are full of charts and kits and I noticed that I don't have enough folders. I have still unorganized shelves, magazines and I regret I didn't start archeological studies. My sewing room would have been a treasure field. I have already found many lost objects.

Tämä on viimeinen kierros ja sitten tämä on valmis. Laakapistoilla (gobeliinipisto) mennään. Minulla on idea miten viimeisten työn. Täytyy vain löytää mukava pyöreä pöytä, jossa on lasi ja laittaa tämä työ lasisen pöytälevyn alle. Koska en ole tarpeeksi rikas ostaakseni antiikkipöydän, täytyy kahlata läpi kirpputorien, kierrätyskeskusten ja second hand -liikkeiden. Pitäkää peukkuja!
Entäpäs ompeluhuoneeni järjestely? No, lattia näkyy jo. Kaikki pahvilaatikot ovat häipyneet. Kaksi uutta kaappiani ovat täynnä ristipistomalleja ja -pakkauksia ja huomasin että minulla ei ole tapeeksi kansioita. Minulla on edelleenkin järjestelemättömät hyllyt, lehdet ja kadun etten aloittanut arkeologian opintoja. Ompeluhuoneeni olisi ollut oikea aarrekenttä. Olen jo löytänyt paljon kadoksissa olleita esineitä.

What a week! Sometimes I'm so busy I can't get anything done. Because of snow we have had many power cutoffs. Have you ever tried to stitch by candlelight? It may be romantic, but it's not for stitching. I couldn't even see the holes of fabric. Better stop whining, before it grows into a habit.
I added a new piece to my gallery a couple of days ago and entertained relatives. The organization of my sewing room is still going on (perhaps forever...). I bought two hanging file folder cabins for my charts and kits. Perhaps someday I have organized all. That might be the 8th wonder of the world!

Mikä viikko! Joskus olen niin kiireinen että en saa mitään aikaiseksi. Lumentulon takia sähköt ovat olleet poissa monta kertaa. Oletko koskaan yrittänyt pistellä kynttilänvalossa? Voihan se olla romanttista, mutta ei se pistelyyn sovi. En edes nähnyt kankaan reikiä. Paras lopettaa valitus tähän, ennenkuin siitä tulee tapa.
Lisäsin uuden työn galleriaani muutama päivä sitten ja kestitsin sukulaisia. Ompeluhuoneen järjestäminen on yhä meneillään (luultavasti ikuisesti...). Ostin kaksi riipparia (riippukansiolaatikostokaappia) ristipistotöille ja ristipistopakkauksille. Ehkä jonain päivänä olen järjestellyt kaiken. Se on sitten maailman kahdeksas ihme!

Outlines of circle are done. This piece doesn't grow any bigger, what is a relief. I'm not very good at taking pictures and trying to balance myself on a squeaky chair won't make it better. Sometimes I wish I would be a bit taller. It has been all cross stitches this week and if I had any chance to stitch next week, there'll be more cross stitches then. Let's see. There's the visit of my realtives, you see.

Those insides of points of stars are almost done. It has been all Bargello stitches this week. I wish this project is finished next week or at least almost finished. Relatives come to visit me at the end of the month, so there is not very much stitching then. I needed a chair to take this picture, I hope I don't need ladders next time. The project is already quite large and it's getting larger...

Tähtien sisäpuolet ovat melkein tehty. Tällä viikolla on kirjottu Firenzenkirjontaa eli loimukirjontaa todenteolla. Getting bright ideas is not good for stitching speed. I have years and years talked about to organize my stash. I have started it and well...overwhelmed with all that work and all those cardboard boxes, computer files and folders. Let's see how long it takes this time before I'll quit. I have now organized 14 charts. It isn't much yet, but it is beginning, isn't it?
Ok, what comes to my stitchings. Here is the latest one. I have now finished all the points of starts, but not the insides of the points. Next I'm going to stitch bargello rows inside the points of the stars.

Fiksujen ideoiden saaminen ei ole hyväksi pistelunopeudelle. Olen jo vuosia puhunut siitä että pitäisi järjestellä varastot. Olen aloittanut sen ja no, tuota...hukkunut kaiken sen työmäärän ja pahvilaatikoiden, tiedostojen ja kansioiden alle. Katsotaanpa miten kauan tällä kertaa kestää ennenkuin lopetan. Olen nyt järjestellyt 14 mallia. Aika vähän, mutta tämähän on vasta ihan alussa, vai mitä?
Ok, mitä tulee pistelyihini. Tässä on viimeisin. Olen nyt saanut valmiiksi kaikki tähtien sakarat, paitsi en sakaroiden sisäpuolta. Seuraavaksi aion pistellä loimukirjontaa eli Firenzenkirjontaa tähtien sakaroiden sisäpuolelle.

Some of you might have noticed some changes here. About a month ago my "magical template" started to act strangely. It disappeared and re-appeared as it pleased. Perhaps that is what magical things do??? Most of the pictures vanished, colours changed, comments went off and so on... And now the whole thing is gone. So I had to find a new template and the result is this. I wish this will last a bit longer and comments stay on.
And what about my stitchings. I have spent most of my time with this template problem and my shoulders will need an instant massage, so I haven't stitched very much. Here is the result of last week. I have done just insides of the first row of points of star. Now I'm at the beginning of the second row of point of star.

Osa teistä on saattanut huomata hieman muutoksia täällä. Noin kuukausi sitten "magical template"-sivupohjani alkoi käyttäytyä oudosti. Se katosi ja ilmestyi jälleen, ihan miten sitä huvitti kulloinkin. Ehkäpä maagiset asiat toimivat juuri noin??? Suurin osa kuvista katosi, värit muuttuivat, kommentit katosivat ja niin edelleen... Ja nyt koko roska on kadonnut. Niinpä minun oli löydettävä uusi sivupohja ja tulos on tässä. Toivon että tämä tulee kestämään hieman pitempään ja kommentitkin toimivat.
Ja mitä tulee pistelyihin. Olen viettänyt suurimman osan ajastani tämän sivupohja-ongelman parissa ja hartiani tarvitsisivat hierontaa heti, joten en ole juurikaan pistellyt. Tässä on viime viikon tulos. Olen tehnyt vain ensimmäisen rivin tähden sakaroiden sisäpuoliset osat. Nyt olen aloittamassa toista riviä tähden sakaroita.

This project has come to a point where it seems almost the same, how ever hard I'm stitching. I have been stitching cross stitches on the insides of the points of the star. There is plenty of stitching still left there. This project starts to look endless. I'm not even a half way yet. Perhaps I'll take a smaller project in-between or continue with this one. I haven't decided yet. I just got the pattern and threads for my next scheduled project. The due date of this new fixed project is not even near, so if I start it, I'll be very early with it and late with this one. What a dilemma! On the other hand, it's not a problem at all if I stick on this project.

Tämä projekti on tullut pisteeseen, missä se näyttää lähestulkoon samalta riippumatta siitä kuinka ahkerasti pistelen. Olen pistellyt ristipistoja tähden sakaroiden sisäpuolelle. Edelleenkin siellä on paljon pisteltävää. Tämä projekti alkaa näyttää loppumattomalta. En ole vielä edes puolivälissä. Saatan ehkä ottaa pienemmän projektin välityöksi tai jatkaa tätä. En ole vielä päättänyt. Sain juuri mallin ja langat seuraavaan aikataulutettuun projektiini. Here I'm again with this forever project. I thought I'll finish all points of star last week. I thought wrong. I just and just had time to finish those outlines of the star with cross stitches. This week is even busier, there is Christmas visitors coming and I have to clean, cook, bake, wrap gifts and move snow around, because it seems there is plenty of that stuff coming, too. It's good because I like white Christmas.

Tässä sitä taas ollaan tämän ikuisuusprojektin kanssa. Ajattelin että saisin tähden sakarat tällä viikolla valmiiksi. Ajattelin väärin. Aika riitti siihen että sain nipinnapin pisteltyä tähden ääriviivat ristipistoin. Tämä viikko on vielä kiireisempi, jouluvieraita saapuu ja minun on siivottava, laitettava ruokaa, leivottava, käärittävä lahjoja ja siirreltävä lunta ympäriinsä, koska näytää että sitä tavaraa tulee taivaan täydeltä. Back to my long time project. Here is what I have done this far. Christmas is near, so I have so much other things to do and places to be, I haven't had very much time to stitch. I decided to stitch those outlines of points of star next. There is still plenty of stitching inside those outlines. Whoever understand what I'm trying to say... plenty of stitching anyhow.

Takaisin pitkäaikaiseen projektiini. Tämän verran olen saanut aikaan. Joulu on lähellä ja on niin paljon muita asioita tehtävänä ja pitää rientää paikasta toiseen, joten pistelyyn ei ole jäänyt paljoakaan aikaan. It's complete now! This house is made of fabric and threads and buttons and beads. Oh boy, what a bumpy ride. I thought putting all together was the easy part. HAH! It was painful, my fingers are bleeding. I don't think the designer designed it the way I put it together. I didn't want to leave any loose pieces. So, every part of this Gingerbread House is stitched together. It's like a closed box.

I'll post it tomorrow...and hope it brings happy Christmas to someone. It was a pleasure to stitch, except the last part. And back to Mariner's Compass. Next time, perhaps next week, you'll see it again.

Gingerbread house - Day 14

The both sections of the roof are done as you can see. They are almost identical, except the colours of the beads and buttons. At first there is snow rows with cross stitches. Then under the row of buttons and beads, Bargello Lace made of large cross stitches over four and satin stitches are used as bargello wave.

Under the row of Bargello Lace there are arrowhead stitches and modified smyrna cross with beads.

The last lace row is made of Eyelet Lace using regular cross stitches over two and large cross stitches over four and scallops of satin stitches.

The last row under beads and buttons is made of cross stitches.

There is satin stitches over four on the sides.

Tomorrow it's time to start the last piece, the chimney.

Molemmat katonpuoliskot on tehty, kuten voit kuvista nähdäkin. Ne ovat lähestulkoon samanlaiset lukuunottamatta nappien ja helmien värejä. Aluksi on ristipistoilla tehty lumirivi. Sitten nappi- ja helmirivin alapuolella, Firenzenpitsiä, joka on tehty suurilla neljän langan ylimenevillä ristipistoilla ja laakapistoja on käytetty aaltomaisen loimukirjonnan tapaan.

Firenzenpitsirivin alapuolella on nuolenpääpistoja ja muunneltuja timanttipistoja helmien seurana.

Viimeinen pitsirivi on tehty Silmukkapitsillä käyttäen tavallisia ristipistoja kahden langan yli ja suuria ristipistoja neljän langan yli sekä simpukanmallisia laakapistoja.

Viimeinen rivi helmien ja nappien alla on tehty ristipistoilla.

Sivuilla on laakapistoja eli suoria gobeliinipistoja neljän langan yli.

Huomenna on aika aloittaa viimeistä palaa, savupiippua.

Here is a tiny part of roof. I think I'll stitch both parts of roof, before I post anything new here. They'll be almost identical, except the bead colours. So, I don't see any point to post two similar pieces. My next posting will be later this week or early next week.

And the last side wall is finished. Now it's a time to start stitching the roof. Roof is the biggest part, so it might take a bit longer. I'm a week ahead of my schedule, so there is no hurry with roof.

The front wall is finished. I'm 3 days early altogether and it feels so nice. This one was easier to stitch than the back wall. The door is made of Satin Stitch and a sill is made of Reverse Mosaic Stitch and a door mat is worked with Scotch Stitch. Otherwise it's cross stitches, and beads and ribbon stitched as a bow on wreath. Tomorrow I'll start the last wall and then I have only roof and a chimney left.

Etuseinä on valmis. Olen nyt 3 päivää aikataulusta edellä ja se tuntuu mukavalta. Etuseinä oli helpompi pistellä kuin takaseinä. Ovi on tehty laakapistoilla tai suorilla gobeliinipistoilla ja kynnys mosaiikkipistoilla ja ovimatto on pistelty skottipistoilla eli tyynypistoilla eli vinoilla laakapistoilla. Muutoin on käytetty ristipistoja, ja helmiä ja nauha on pistelty rusetiksi seppeleeseen. Huomena aloitan viimeistä seinää ja sitten onkin jäljellä vain katto ja savupiippu.

The first side wall is finished. It was quite easy. Only cross-stitches, some backstitch and beads. I love how the silk thread feels. It has been so long time since I last used anything silky. Tomorrow is again a new beginning - stitching of a front door.

The back wall is finished now. One part done, only 6 parts to stitch. The door of the house is made of Smyrna Crosses and the door sill is made of Mosaic Stitches. The door mat is Scotch Stitches. Hardanger is used for the window, same as Kloster Blocks. All beads added and bow stitched on the wreath. All other stitches are cross stitches and back stitches. Tomorrow you'll see the beginning of a side wall of this Gingerbread House.

Takaseinä on nyt tehty. Yksi osa valmis, vain 6 osaa pisteltävää jäljellä. Ovi on tehty timanttipistoilla ja kynnys mosaiikkipistoilla. Ovimatto koostuu skottipistoista eli vinoista laakapistoista tai tyynypistoista. Hardanger-kirjontaa on käytetty ikkunaan, kuten myös Kloster-ryhmiä. Kaikki helmet on kiinnitetty ja rusetti pistelty seppeleeseen. Kaikki muut pistot ovat ristipistoja ja laakapistoja. Huomena näet sivuseinän aloituksen tähän piparkakkutaloon.

Here is the back door of the gingerbread house. The design is by Thea Dueck for The Victoria Sampler. I stitch on 28 ct Linen, colour Amber and over two threads. This is the Christmas project I was talking about earlier. I have just 4 weeks to finish it and to accomplish it I have to stitch at least 2 parts of the house in a week. I'm not at all sure how I manage...but let's see... I'll let you know.

Tässä on piparkakkutalon takaovi. Malli on The Victoria Samplerin ja sen on laatinut Thea Dueck. Pistelen ambran väriselle pellavalle 11 lankaa/cm ja kahden langan yli. Tämä on se Joulu-projekti, josta kerroin aiemmin. Minulla on tasan 4 viikkoa aikaa saada se valmiiksi ja päästäkseni tähän minun olisi pisteltävä valmiiksi vähintään 2 osaa piparitalosta viikossa. Last time I said, I'm going to stitch the points of the star next and now you see this picture. These ornaments don't look very pointy - yet. They will, just wait. I chose to stitch all points of star at same time. There is bad news for this project, I have to move it aside for a while.
What comes to my in-between project. It's almost a miracle. I received all right materials last week. And I mean ALL threads, silks, buttons and fabrics from all over the world. I may have a teeny-weeny chance of finishing it before Christmas. The timeframe is very tight and my needle has to fly. Next time it'll be a beginning of Gingerbread House and I'm not going to use any dough at all. Only fabrics and threads.

Viime kerralla sanoin että aion pistellä seuraavaksi tähden sakarat ja nyt näkyykin tämä kuva. Nämä kiemurat eivät näytä kovinkaan sakaraisilta - vielä. Tulevat kyllä hyvinkin näyttämään, kunhan odottelet. Päätin kuitenkin pistellä kaikkia sakaroita samalla kertaa. Hieman huonoja uutisia tälle projektille, laitan sen syrjään vähäksi aikaa.
Mitä tulee välityöhöni. Tämä on miltei ihme. Sain kaiken materiaalin viime viikolla. Ja tarkoitan todella että KAIKKI tuli, langat, silkkilangat, napit ja kangas kaikkialta maailmasta. Nyt saattaa olla ihan pienenpieni mahdollisuus että saan sen valmiiksi ennen Joulua. Aika on kortilla ja nyt neulani on syytä lentää. Seuraavalla kerralla tulee olemaan Piparkakkutalon aloitus ja en aio käytää yhtään taikinaa siihen. Vain kangasta ja lankaa.

All the triangel areas are done now. I stitched some silver spots around and over cross stitched circles. They look like strange spiders. They look much more sprakling in real life than in this picture. Next I'll begin to stitch the points of a star. It's mostly cross stitches at first. Because the pattern is getting bigger all the time, it starts to take more time to finish each point. I think, I'll stitch all the points of a star at same time, but lets see... I may find better way to do it.
The first delivery of the materials of my next project arrived from UK in 3 days. Now I have 3 cones of white thread. I haven't got any fabric or any other materials yet. So, I'm still waiting for the beginning day of my next in-between project. Meanwhile I stitch this long-time project.

Kolmio-alueet on nyt tehty. Pistelin muutamia hopeatäpliä pitkin ja poikin ristipisteltyjä ympyröitä. Ne näyttävät oudoilta hämähäkeiltä. Luonnossa ne kimaltelevat paremmin kuin tässä kuvassa. Seuraavaksi pistelen tähden sakaroita. Aluksi lähinnä ristipistoilla. Koska kuviosta tulee koko ajan suurempi, jokaisen sakaran tekeminen vie hieman enemmän aikaa. Luulenpa että pistelen kaikkia tähden sakaroita yhtäaikaisesti, mutta katsotaan nyt...saatan keksi paremmankin tavan tehdä asia.
Seuraavan projektini ensimmäinen materiaalitoimitus saapui Brittein saarilta kolmessa päivässä. Nyt minulla on 3 kartiota valkoista lankaa. Kangasta tai muuta materiaalia minulla ei vielä ole. Niinpä, odottelen edelleen seuraavan välityöni aloituspäivää. Sillä välin pistelen tätä pitkäaikaista projektia.

All the half circles are done. Now I'm stitching triangle areas, between circles and bargello. I use stitches like Algerian Eye, Center Open Algerian Eye and Smyrna Cross. Everyting is going on smoothly. Because the stitches are so tiny, I zoomed the picture 100%, so you can better see what I'm doing.

Well, there is another minor project coming between. I got the chart last week, only 3 weeks late. The due date of the project is before Christmas Eve. Because of the delay, I didn't have time to bought materials earlier. I tryed to find the materials I'll need in Finland, where I live. Not even a chance. I needed special silk threads and special buttons and a certain kind of fabric. Beacause I have to order ALL materials from other countries, it makes more delay. The fabric is coming from Italy, most of the threads and buttons from USA via UK, some of the threads from Switzerland and rest of the threads from Thailand. I don't think I'll start this project before Christmas. It takes at least a month before I get all the materials I need, even more time may pass. It's a bit hilarious because this is a Christmas project!

Kaikki puoliympyrät on nyt tehty. Nyt pistelen kolmio-alueita, ympyröiden ja loimu- eli Firenzenkirjonnan väliin. Käytän turkkilaisia tähtipistoja, turkkilaisia tähtipistoja, joissa on avoin keskusta ja timanttipistoja. Kaikki sujuu ihan hyvin. Koska pistot ovat hyvin pieniä, suurensin kuvaa 100%, niin että näet paremmin mitä olen tekemässä.

Joopa-joo, tämän työn väliin on tulossa toinen pienempi projekti. Sain mallin viime viikolla, vain 3 viikkoa myöhässä. Projektin määräpäivä on ennen jouluaattoa. Viivästyksestä johtuen, minulla ei ollut aikaa ostaa materiaaleja aikaisemmin. Yritin löytää tarvitsemiani materiaaleja Suomesta, missä asun. Ei mitään saumaa. Halusin tietynlaisia silkkilankoja ja erikois-nappeja ja tietynlaista kangasta. Koska joudun tilaamaan KAIKKI materiaalit muista maista, siitä aiheutuu lisää viivästyksiä. Kangas tulee nyt sitten Italiasta, suurin osa langoista ja napit Yhdysvalloista Brittein saarien kautta, jotkut langoista tulevat Sveitsistä ja loput langoista Thaimaasta. Enpä oikein usko että aloitan tätä projektia ennen joulua. Aikaa kuluu ainakin kuukausi, jonsei enemmän, ennen kuin kaikki materiaalit on kasassa. Hieman hupaisaa, koska tämä on jouluprojekti!

It's finished now. I'm a bit early with this one, so I'm back in schedule again. This was super easy, even with those changes I made. After Mariner's Compass this felt like child's play. And back to Mariner's Compass again, I'll stitch it until I finish it.

Se on nyt valmis. Olen hieman etuajassa tämän kanssa, niinpä olen taas aikataulussa. Tästä ei juurikaan ollut vastusta, mukaanlukien tekemäni muutokset. Merenkulkijan kompassin jälkeen tämä oli helppoa kuin heinänteko. Ja takaisin Merenkulkijan kompassiin, pistelen sitä kunnes se on valmis.

It was about a time. Last week was a dream come true -week. I had all the time I needed and I had everything done what I planed and some extra, too. So, there is only the last half circle left, before other stitches over the whole circle. I like this project much, but it has to be moved aside for a while. There is a minor work which have fixed deadline waiting and I have to do it in-between this project. Next time you'll see the beginning of a new project. Perhaps tomorrow...

Olipa jo aikakin. Viime viikko oli unelmien täyttymys. Minulla oli kerrankin tarpeeksi aikaa ja sain tehtyä kaikki mitä suunnittelinkin tekeväni ja hieman ylimääräistäkin. Niinpä jäljellä on enää viimeinen puoliympyrä, ennenkuin aloitan muut pistot koko ympyrän pistojen päälle. Pidän tästä projektista paljon, mutta joudun siirtämään sen syrjään hetkeksi. Eräs välityö, jolla on kiinteä määräaika odottaa ja se on tehtävä tämän projektin välissä. Seuraavalla kerralla näetkin uuden projektin alun. Ehkä jo huomena...

Usually I'm very good at estimations. Perhaps I'm getting old and loosing my touch. I'm falling more and more behind. Something in this project repels my estimations. Time is not on my side either and life just happens to me. Sometimes there are too many people who needs me and my own time (read: Stitching time) runs like sand through my fingers. I got nearly everything done what I planned for last week. That's good. There is always the next week and more tiny cross stitches...
Yleensä olen hyvä arvioimisessa. Ehkä alan vanhettua ja menettää otettani. Jään yhä enemmän jälkeen. Jokin tässä projektissa vastustaa arvioitani. Aika ei myöskään ole puolellani ja elämässä vaan tapahtuu asioita. Joskus liian monet ihmiset tarvitsevat minua ja oma aikani (lue: ristipistelyaika) valuu kuin hiekka sormieni välitse. Last week I was busy, but not with this one. Three days and not even a stitch done. I'm behind in my schedule. I estimated I'll do a half circle in a week, but I was wrong, I haven't done even half of a half circle. Too much social events ruin my stitching speed. That reminds me of upcoming birthdays and Christmas partys. Perhaps I have to estimate the whole thing again...

Viime viikolla olin kiireinen, mutta en tämän työn kanssa. Kolme päivää ja en edes yhtä pistoa saanut aikaiseksi. Olen jäljessä aikataulusta. Arvioin että tekisin puoliympyrän viikossa, mutta olin väärässä, en saanut tehtyä edes puolikasta puolesta ympyrästä. Liian paljon sosiaalisia tapahtumia pilaa pistelynopeuteni. Tämä taas muistuttaa minua tulevista syntymäpäivistä ja pikkujouluista. Ehkäpä täytyy arvioita koko homma uudelleen...

Mariner's Compass - 14th day

The colours of this pattern makes me think of toffee. It has been all cross stitches since last time and it'll be almost same the next 2-3 months. Estimated finishing time is next Summer-Autumn. Evenings and nights are getting darker, so it makes this pattern a bit more challenging.
Tämän mallin värit saavat minut ajattelemaan toffeeta. Viime kerran jälkeen olenkin pistelly vain ristipistoja ja sama meno jatkuu seuraavat 2-3 kuukautta. Arvioitu valmistumisaika on ensi syksyn korvilla. Illat ja yöt pimenevät, joten se lisää hieman mallin haastavuutta.
